Ghost Vape MK1 Product review from the old dude

Dear @memberdirectory,

Review of Ghost Vape MK1 Ghost Vape MK1

As many of you know I will not review any product that I do not like. I just keep my mouth shut.

But, the Ghost Vape MK1 is just an outstanding product and I want to share my experience with my first day with the product.

First I have tried and given away more vape products than I care to think about. None of them could compare to the Volcano Vaporizer. The Volcano is a great product if you are not on the move, it is perfect in the home. But, you cant put the Volcano in your pocket.

The Ghost Vape MK1 is as good as the Volcano for vaporizing, but you can carry it with you!

The packaging is a marketing dream. Unboxing the Ghost Vape MK1 was just fun. The product is solid and beautiful. Charging the battery for the first time was a practice in patience. I am not one who likes to wait but, I did. It has convinced me I will own a second battery as soon as they are available.

The crucibles for dry herb is a just a superior design. They are a little hard for me to use with a tremor, but with a espresso spoon I was able to fill and store my 11 crucibles, while waiting for my battery to charge.

I watched all the videos for a second time, while waiting for the battery to charge the first time. The video’s are perfect for the new user. I would like to see more written documentation, with pictures and diagrams. I just read faster than I can watch a video. I don’t like videos as final reference documentations. I expect this will come with time.

I played with assembling and disabling the heat sink. I can do it even with my coordination problems. I don’t think OT will like to help me come up with ideas on handling the small parts. But, I was able to do it at my kitchen table a number of times. I am very slow and did it carefully. Getting the top rubber seal on takes a bit of skill, but it was good practice for me. I did my OT hand coordination workout with the heat sink assembly.

I down loaded the IOS application from Ghost Vape. And played with the dogs and waited for the battery to fully charge. I want my batteries to last the way the where designed, so no cheating on the first charge.

Finally my battery was fully charged and I was ready to go. It took me a couple of times rewatching to videos to understand how to turn the MK1 on and get the temperature set to my preferred range.

Pairing the MK1 with my iPhone was a bit more challenging than I expected. A written description with a graphic would help. But, I got the MK1 paired with my iPhone set my preferred temperature. This really could be simpler in pairing the Bluetooth. If I have a problem as a technology savvy person, other people are going to have problems.

My first vaporizing experience, I thought the Ghost Vape MK1 was not working! But, cool clean vape filled my lungs. It was just like using my bothers and son’s Volcano. Cool flavorful vape! Over and over again. I would describe it as like drinking a fine wine or a nice new hard cider. Or eating a nice meal. It is a product that can be mindfully used. This is a top shelf product and I am a happy camper. :upside_down_face:

The best part is you can stop and your crumble is cool enough for additional sessions. I used one crucible for a couple of hours and felt very satisfied. Micro dosing is going to be a learning experience. I most defiantly over did my first sessions. But, my wife was not at home so, only the dogs saw how well my symptoms where relieved. I played with the dogs more than I am normally able to physically handle. So that says a lot about the product.

What I would like to see in a great product to make it even better. The crucibles need to come with the stainless steal concentrate pads. Ultimately I am going to use more concentrates than dry herb, but that is what will be required for me. I like leaf the best but a reliable supply of high grade leaf is hard to get. Medical grade concentrate is legally available in Minnasota with a prescription. So I am going to have to get stainless steal concentrate pads. I know the people at Ghost Vape will work with me.

I would like simpler written instructions over videos. Videos are a good sales tool, but bad a for end user reference documentations.

Pairing the MK1 to my iPhone was a bit of a challenge.

The glass mouth piece is comfortable. But, I will need to keep a supply of them on hand. I brake glassware all the time. That is my personal problem with coordination.

I would like a carrying pouch for my MK1 and will sew one over the holidays. A stiff bag with a Velcro fastener and a place to store my extra crucible holder.

The app has a good basic UI. The UI and features will improve over time. I would like to see the temperature actual vs target temp. I would even like to see a guided draw system in the application. Think of a guided meditation type feature. Draw now, inhale, stop and hold your breath, type of thing.

I would love if the device restarted at the last temperature, but that is just a design issue and I will be using the application to control temperature. Maybe they will update the firmware to reflect this preference.

So in summery Ghost MK1 is the best portable vaporizer I have ever had the pleasure of using. It just works. I am sitting here using it right now. It just works and works well. I am putting away my 1983 one hitter and giving away my PAX3 to a friend who will never be able to afford buying any vaporizer on there own.

I think the Ghost MK1 is as close to a medical delivery devices as the cannabis industry could wish to have in its arsenal of delivery methods. Plus, it is just a good solid product and I have waited years for a good portable product.

I give this product a 9 out of 10. The one point to make it perfect will come overtime. I would pleased to be associated with this organization. They are just doing things right. :rose::upside_down_face::+1::grimacing::sunglasses:

Thanks Ethan will check it out. With my state thc dry flower can only be vaped so big market. I think the 2018 Mighty still owns. I can’t deal with balloons and cellphones when I vape. Digital temps with manual 1F increments must be built in or boo. The dual induction and convention from the Volcano but in a portable now.

I am in love with the Ghost MK1 even my wife doesn’t object. And that is saying something. It just works. Now I have to figure out how to use Keefe in it.

They best part of being retired is no security clearance paper work and no drug testing.

We lost so many people when we decided to go after government work. Ahhhhh

Happy man at work! Note that espresso spoons have a function other than the worlds best beverage.

Either the grinder maker or ghost should supply one

I hate to break my set up.

Guys my love affair with the Ghost Vape MK1 continues.

The product is truly on the correct path for a premium product. They have a product that works as advertised. 100% :scream:.

Here is the highlights of what I want to see as improvements and they are all easy changes to be a volcano like product in the portable market. And they are really obvious and a good leaning tool for the canna business family.

First, the market sector for this product is the boutique market for people with high disposable income, but volcano is not an option. Kids or social limitation on cannabis consumption. People just like me. It would be awkward for me to own a Volcano. But, I may say so what, with changes in minnasota law.

There is know way I can see to make a portable vaperser as easy to use as a Volcano or a joint without a great piece of hardware. The Ghost MK1 is an engineers wet dream. I should it to a friend who is a Professor of machanial engineering, at the University of Minnesota Duluth. So a home town guy. We played with my Ghost product in his lab. The thing hits the mark on temperature +/-0.5 degrees C. Of the Tempature you pick. :scream::sunglasses:wow, lab grade numbers.

All the issues I face are issues I think the mature adult market needs. And ghost probably fix my issues for between 10k to 20k investment. If they don’t I might. That how much I like this product. I would recuperate my investment by charging for the pro version of the iOS app.

Here we go. My generation, let’s define this as born before 1973.

Need the application and a guide vaping experience. We like pot, but what does the average guy know about tech? The MK1 has to be as easy to use as the as this product in the same market demigraphic Muse 2 or Bose Head phones portable . Exact same market.

About the same cost in terms of descretionary spending.

We need ghost to write it promotional material and software to parallel Muses ease of guided meditation in bio feed back, bose simplicity of use.

I turn on my bose head phones the connect to both my phone and my laptop. I have used this feature since the first Bluetooth v3 compliment products allowed dual connections. I have owned one. On my laptop it supports computer VIOP client. My VIOP solution is free I use 3cx.com supports all major voip solution. I will start using my clouded server again for Pot-thoughts.info meetings. I don’t care about your infestructure. You can call me globally for free. I use this to conference call our family foundation monthly meetings. It just works.

This what the MK1 is to have software engineered To the same standard as the hardwhere.

If this my problem, from my tech days I know exactly the path I would use for getting out a production beta of the software in under 30 days. The software would be as good as the hardware. I would contract code the deliverable using my cloud servers. I own every line of code and I can benchmark the millstones. I think I could get a first line iOS app development group to do this under contract. With one of the specialty development houses in India. I would a standard beta dilivery model. I know from personal experience that a four page app with one setting page and the link to a data agrigater. Would cost between 10 and 20k and be ready in under thrifty days. We did this type of thing weekly at AON. We finally insourced the team from our partner in India. That how fast we could deliver an internial tool to our IT teams and line business partners. We would give you a tool for free.

@NeoMirsky, it the software.

I need simple software to go with a world class hardware. If you control the UI you control the user. It is the sales tool at the good dispensaries. It will sell itself.
You create a marketing kit for face to face sales. Have the stellar engineers create a heatsink, with a disposable mouth piece for sanitary reasons and a paper asshole attached to the mouth piece. Now you instruct the store clerk to have the user scan the QRC code the potential buyers need to demonstrate the ease of use to an actual user. Two things are accomplished here. You get the user data on anyone who installs the application. Two you know the Bluetooth MAC address of any demo unit. Since you supply the demo units for free. You can see real time for client information for potential sales and retail location demo unit control.

If you use salesfource as your CRM platform and say Microsoft Azure as a starts up data infrastructure and database provider. You do two things storage on SalesFource is expensive, but the controlling database is any ansi SQL Reltional database on azure a small company say with less than 100 using a 100% cloud solution means you don’t need any IT staff. Microsoft takes care of vanilla installs for the price of the service. So a one database up 7/24 365 hot failover is about $100/month any VM are billed in the us and UK at like .003 cents per runtimes second. You just pick a demand model. You can predict your it backbone by the year. If Microsoft is your unified platform, and everyone offers a unified platform. For a little as nothing to a power user is by the seat. A power user is 220$ a year. I just upgraded on seat at my family to a power user yesterday.

Plus, salesfource has built in templates for automated work flow! So sales knows how shipping and receiving are doing. Add in a package like www.squarespace.com for 100% of your public face e-commerce. You have an end to end solution.

Share with the gang, Wally and the others.
This is what I did for a living :grimacing:

Call me old school I still use a small wooden kief box that I made 20yrs ago in shop class.
Kief is still my favorite over oils/wax. Kief is easy and will tear me up and result in better lingering true taste.
I’m a flower guy and kief is what I like.
No coffee grinder imitationial kief.

@NeoMirsky Ghost Vape MK1 I’m in. This will be my 5th different Vaporizer in less than 2 yrs.

@ethan did a good review and would like to see him get the referal bonus since I never heard of Ghost until this post.
I’m not so sure about holding the button?
I would prefer the device has the option to stay heated for 5 mins and not save anything. The chamber is small so I prefer to kill it and done.
This will be my 5th different portable vaporizer in less than 2 yrs.
They all R.I.P.

I learned that it’s best to have 2 of the exact same vaporizer. 1 is being cleaned and 1 is being used. 1 is fully charged 1 is charging. 2 is the way to go! If I’m going to pay +$60 for a sprare battery, I rather invest in a 2nd device.
