As I have said posting in one thread works for me starting more is no good

I will lose track of them and not keep them up

I need help with pollen @PreyBird1 @Slym3r

I have made my own beans and grown them

the first time back in 2006 I had some plants outside and pollinated

them with a landrace Thai

what a mistake that was I ran around like The Sugar Plum Fairy waving

branches of a male plant like a magic wand

I ended up with weed that had more seeds then the Mexican Block Weed

I bought back in 1974

the tiniest blackest seeds I have ever seen that no way would ever finish

outside here in the Northeast and was 180+ days flower inside

made a few inside here and there that were good

In 2021 I made beans outside I had a single male and let the bees do the work

ended up with seedy buds that i could live with

here is the questions that i would like help with

if you have a vial of pure pollen say .25 ml how many buds will that

amount pollinate?

if it is pure do you add say flour to cut it?

what I would like to do is make some feminized Auto seeds and at this time

not reverse a plant

I will do that inside in the future

at this time I will try to buy some pollen or maybe beg some

any help and guidance would be super

If I get only a tiny bit of pollen, I use a paintbrush, the craft ones maybe 1/4" round and kindy fluffy. Put on a mask to minimize draft from your breath, Dip the tip of the brush in, tip the bud to be pollinated to the side to get more exposure…tap the brush like flicking ash of a cig. onto the bud so the pollen falls right on the pistils. Repeat until pollen is done, then flick the brush end on your finger over more buds to clear the brush. Hope this make sense, I told myself to take pics last time and of course I don’t listen. Good method if you only want to pollinate a few buds on a production plant, but mark the bud for later not that you wont find it.

there are 10 Centripetal Force MAC F2 x Mimosa regulars that I

had three males show themselves

I have 8 regular Pure Michigan F1 x Gold Ca$h Gold I have never grown

I wanted to try Pure Michigan

group shot just need to lose the males and get it down to one female of each

this is one day after getting the lights to the right PPFD and DLI or an 18 hour

day

my plants are start to look better as the light is about right

you can see the new growth is better

thank G_d I am growing The Weed because these poor plants have been

so mistreated and abused

one thing for me has been getting them on a good wet/dry cycle

it is a bit different under the LEDs but wet feet still is not good

soon as they start to grow it will be all good

I was going to put 3 lights to flower and 2 lights to veg I do not know for

the life of me what I was thinking as I will be vegging way more plants

I am running the Flower lights at 520 watts with a power draw from the

wall of 549 watts

so the overhead for the 2 lights is 29 watts way better than my HIDs

a couple of days on the 18 hour on light schedule the plants are doing

so much better

in a week or two we will be rockin’

This is what i was going to say. I’ve seen it done with minimal amounts and your able to polinate exactly where you want.

1/4 ml is a decent amount envisioning the volume…so it should actually go pretty damn far depending on how you plan to disperse it… Technically it only takes one grain of pollen to pollinate one stigma… so in your volume .25 ml, if each grain of pollen is 25 microns you have billions…Now the Viability % is unknown… then there is hitting the target, not getting stuck in some trichomes…so that loss is also unknown, indeterminable.

Flour, no way! Why? unless your trying to preserve it, storage.

and as you say a grain will make a bean to get just a grain is tough one would think

From what ive been reading 4 to 5 plants entirely from a quarter teaspoon .

I thought this was cool info…

It only takes about 4-6 hours for the pollen to germinate and fertilize the females, but it’s best to give the plants a full 24 hours before returning them to the flowering room to maximize seed production. Once they are ready to go back in, use a pump sprayer with only pure water in it to mist down the pollinated plants. The water will force germinate any remaining pollen on these plants. Once dried, the plants will be ready to go back into the flower room with no risk of accidentally pollinating other plants

There’s lots of info about baking the Flour to make sure its ultra dry, so its acting as a desiccant.

my thought as I would use only part of it, as I am making beans to use for myself

outside looking more so to develop a localized cultivar

gets damp and cold here in the fall grey mold and bud rot will break your heart

good to know as I will more than likely do some next fall inside

I would like to do an open pollination in my room maybe a tent I have a couple different

UBC Chemo that I would love to make beans and share

also a AK Cherry Pheno

Would be more than enough for me would love to have big set up like you but not got enough room yet haha i usually grow outside have only started inside again after a long time of not doing any at all

Sucks about neighbour from hell only one place for people like that

Not good about this years grow was gutted for you reading that when you put it up

when I bought my place I looked at the 25 foot by 45 foot garage with a 20 foot ceiling that

had a 6 ton chain host on a overhead rails

I told owner I will take it and my wife asked me if I wanted to see the houses?

I said houses?

I will put an addition on but to be very honest I am counting the 108 days

until I will be outside

I only have 2 1/2 acres but it is so much bigger than my grow room

thank you for that it destroyed me but the bright side is one got charged

Today is 01/14/2023 and yesterday was my lucky day as always

Friday the 13th

I have been paroled on that day, got bonuses at work when no one else has and

had troopers let me go with no tickets when I was driving 100 MPH

went to my Post Office Box and there were 90 feminized auto seeds on 01/13/2023

but my dear wife pointed out that there is 6 plant limit

I pointed out to her that was outside

I will take some photos later I have been doing some re-potting and

plant maintenance since 4 am my lights go out at 10 am on my veg room

so right now I am taking a break smoking weed, drinking canna oil out of a shot glass

with IPA chasers

so I got in

and of course I found someone with Road Kill Skunk F2s and

has a F5 of Sweet Tooth from Breeder Steve’s stock
