Help, I need to chop BUT

Their not quite ready! I’m running a perpetual - 1x tiered prop/veg room and 2x flower rooms. Timing is critical to average 11-12 harvests yearly. I’ve managed it well for over 2 years BUT got myself jammed up now. Here’s the gig…

  • My veg room is overgrown. The next round of plants must be moved to flower now or I’ll not have enough space for their proper maturation (I know the strain).
  • But my flower room is not quite ready to chop and it’s filled to the brim. Colas are very near ready, but the lower parts of each plant need another 4 days or so.

I’m thinking of moving the near ready-to-chop plants to my 65 degree work room (household lights & no lighting schedule), harvesting colas soon after and leaving the remaining buds a few more days to HOPEFULLY ripen more.

  • Will the remaining buds ripen more with a tad more time but without proper lighting??
  • How long until the plants reveg?
  • Are there any other considerations or negative consequences to this plan?

Suggestions PLEASE on how to handle this dilemma. THANKS.

I really wish I had an answer for you but I am very interested to see what you decide to do. Sacrifice for space or take a chance on household lighting. I hope this works out for ya.

  1. Yes they will, but you will drop yield and might get some balls on your flowers.
  2. They will start immediately, early signs of reveg from 10 days and back to full veg in a month.
  3. Its a plan that can work in your situation, but hermies and loss of yield are problems you may face.

A thing for consideration is depending on the size you could rotate your crops in the flower rooms by reducing your light schedule and rotate your flowering girls. That is if you have the space for an extra dark area with no light leaks. Essentially your flowering room will be running just in 2 cycles per day. I dont know if that is a viable option. Hope that helps, just taking a crack at your dilemma.

Thanks for the input! I’ll take the balls if they come cause I gotta keep things rolling.

You have to play the cards you are dealt, and I would go with your plan. Only a few days to harvest, may it be sweet.

Impressive- I run 7 a yr… I just put those little guys on the floor in the flowering room. Back on schedule and ok for a couple of weeks. My flowers are 2 weeks from done, but sill running gallons for the little guys- so I can just slip them in. I keep 4 in a standard plant tray so they can be separated but easily watered or fed while waiting for prime spacing. As for the rest- try to avoid if possible. Stress causes all sorts of problems.
