Not to be picky…and I know what you mean with the 'big bud" statement. But really it is not a giant bud, it is a tightly massed cluster of buds that fill in completely and create a large cola that looks like one bud, you can start at the bottom and cut each one off till you reach the last terminal bud. And yeah, I have proclaimed the same thing lol…LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT BUD !! But really it’s just a bunch of them all clustered together at the top of the stem. Just think if every bud DID get that big individually lol !!

i totally understand the bud concept, way back when I first started growing ( I’m 45 and been growing since I was 17). I would periodically cut “buds”apart little by little and examine them under my microscope. I bought an actual microscope from a science lab a high school was selling off . they upgraded the science lab and sold off the old equipment to help pay for the new stuff. I like seeing the differences between different strains. I’m very curious and always reading and studying everything I can to make myself a better grower. I’ve grown some massive colas indoors and always improving or changing things up. Some good ,some not so good but always a learning experience. I’ve been making seeds a few years now and have gotten more Into strain crossing and the genetics side of things and working on my own line of strains. :+1::+1::v:

73 and growing since 17 lol…

When I started it was outside or nothing…guerrilla warfare. First inside was with giant MH industrial fixtures then switch them out with SV for the finish. Took 3 feet of grow space up from the hanger to the bottom of the reflector. In all this time I have never done seed, a lot of work breeding if you do it right.

I feel ya on the old school hid setup. I’ve only been running led little over 2 years. I still have the 3 hid setups … 2 giant hoods (3x3 and a 3x4) and a small tent size (1x2 ) with electronic switchable (metal halide/sodium) 1000 watt ballast and bulbs stored away. And yes they take up a lot of room. , I definitely don’t miss the heat or the electric bills and the fact of limited space for height on the plants. Worrying about light burn. Lol. My first couple were outdoor. We lived close to the water and had islands close , so I would put down a couple on the less visited island and pray for females and that they made it and were not found lol. :+1::+1::v: I think I even still have a cool tube setup also. Lol
