How can I get bigger and full buds?

Hi, I’m consideringly experienced grower and with time I’m getting better to understand my plants. But there is a thing that I can’t truly understand. I can grow bigger and healthier plants but I can’t get full buds. So what is my problem do you think? From one plant like this big, I’m getting around 125 grams of harvest. What should I do better to get bigger and full buds? Is my plant get too big or is it just about the genetic of seed. If it is about the genetics what genetics would you recommend me to get bigger buds.
I’m using Canna as a fertilizer and I don’t face any deficiency problems. And as a light I use two of
High Light 420 ‘Mono’ – 250W from growlightaustralia. Any help and recommendations would be helpfull. Thank you from the start

How big is your grow tent?

I just looked up that light. Footprint is 1.2m x 1.2m
Looks like your tent is bigger than that. Might want to get a second light in there, or a more powerful one.

Your light is equivalent to a 315 watt cmh bulb it says.
Big commercial grows use 1000 watt bulbs to bulk of the size of those buds

Grow lights aren’t sunlight. They are the limiting factor imho.

Thanks for your effort to check <3
My tent is 1.5 * 1.5 meter. So you say even 2 of them is not enough for one big plant with that tent? I was aiming to get smaller but more full of buds plants but since I notice that I’m able to grow my plants big, I started considering to get bigger tent. So what do you think the best option to go with just one plant? Keep the tent same and get more powerful lights?

I couldn’t get what do you mean exactly? You mean that since I grow them with artificial lights, I won’t get bigger buds? But since this is my only option, I’m trying to understand what can I do better with given conditions.

@delizirvasi Hiya! Well we are emulating what the sun does and confining these plants in an unnatural way. If you have the world’s best genetics that’s great but I think we only produce a shadow of their true potential. Under sunlight and in ideal conditions some of these plants might need an FAA designation and a little red light on the top. I’m not an expert or a botanist but the lights seem to be the weak point for all of us indoor growers.

What you want is quality not quantity. That being said. If you nees to impove in quality or quantity. You need a few major things. #1 good genetics, #2 good growing lights, 250 watt lights are for baby plants. #3 awesome nutrients. #4 awesome temperature, humidity and good air flow. #5 a legit light meter. And if you are doing all those things and you still wanna improve the amount of bud you have and getting great quality you will have to go hydroponics. Wish you the best of luck.

how big is your pot/grow bag? a seven pot of soil/soiless will let you

grow more bud then a 3 gallon

pot size, light and genetics are big player in plant size, yield etc.

all the best and grow well

Absolutely nothing wrong with 4-5 oz per plant, that is about what I get with a plant the size of yours. If I let them get a bit bigger then I get 6-8 oz per plant. Top them and keep them shorter and bushier from what I see and you will probably up your weight.

my pot is 25 liter. normally I was doing 2 plants, each with 20 liter but this time I wanted to see what’s gonna happen with just one plant with same amount of light. now I’m waiting the results to see if there is dramatic change between one plant and two plant.

and do you have any recommendations for good genetics?

With my lights, normally I was doing 2 big plants but the result is always going around 120 gr for per plant. This time I wanted to see what will happen if I’ll grow just one plant with same ligths. If the result will be the same with two plants, I’ll know that the result is limited with the light, not the quantity of plants inside. I’ll see.
And I’m really happy with canna, I dont face any deficiency problems at all. But do you have anny additional recommendations for fertilizers? And also can you recommend any feminized sativa seed that you have good results. In my coutry it is really expensive to grow and I want it to worth the effort and money actually. Thanks for clear explanation

Yes, that’s what I was thinking. I’m trying to not let them grow that big but I guess I’m still processing the whole scrog thing. Next time, I’ll ask for opinions to improve my training process.

I wish to not to worry about the artificial lights, the amount, the training etc. and let these babies just to grow by themselves and enjoy their presence but unfortunately it is not an option

What you have to realize is, that although there are plants that yield more or less than another strain…if you want more weight from each plant, then you have to grow them bigger somehow. If you scrog with only 4 limbs, you will never get the yield that you would from a scrog with 12 limbs. Kinda like you can’t put 5 pounds of flour in a one pound sack…

or five pounds of shit in a one pound bag  eh?

Hydroponics will definitely increase size and speed things up. But again you’re limited to genetics and the fact the lights we use are not the sun. I grow hydroponically, my lights are descent led and I keep a good environment, temp , humidity and vpd , I’ve had buds bigger than 16 oz bottle ,

most of that I attribute to one particular hydro setup I use. Recently did a bubble bucket auto run I had a Care Bears auto with a top bud that was as big as a solo cup. Environment makes a huge difference especially vpd (Vapour-pressure deficit) do some research on vpd and plant growth it will explain a lot and help improve your grow my friend :+1::+1::v:

This is pretty good article and explains everything you need to know and easy to understand, some of the other articles can be a bit confusing …:+1::+1::v:
