How to add humidity

I am a new grower in the northeastern area. I have a grow room I built in my garage. It is about 12x8x8. I have a 600 watt light and a 300 watt led light with two heaters and a humidifier. The temp stays around 75 to 80. But I can’t get the humidity over 20%. Please help any suggestions

Is it possible for you to set up a tent in there. If so, you can put the heaters outside the tent… And put the humidifier in the tent. It will make it doable to control. Those heaters aren’t going to allow you to get the vapor up bro.

No I had a tent outside but it’s way to cold Here for that.

I meant putting a tent inside your grow room… Even if you are able to put just one of the heaters outside the tent and one inside the tent, will already help alot with your humidity issue

Between the door when you enter and the area your plants are. You could try making a area blocked by clear plastic “like a double entrance to plants” and keep heaters there maybe. Add water in the room also by open containers.

I’d also be looking for a larger humidifier to help more in the winter climate. Everything cold and dry outside. Doesn’t help things.

Could try hanging a wet towel, have a bucket under to catch the runoff. I keep the bucket half full and raise the bucket to rewet the towel when it’s dry.
May help till you get a better, more permanent solution. Probably a bigger humidifier…

20% humidity with that much heat can stunt your plants so bad they will hate life and not produce.

I used 2 mushroom bags in my sealed environment for humidity both day and night. (Not for CO2).

I also use a 2gallon Ultrasonically Humidifier cold/hot with automatic set points so I do nothing while I’m at my day job lol. It’s rated for a large living area up to 75% humidity run on auto.
Also, do as much research as you can about
VPD Vapor Pressure Deficit.
I don’t care if you need to spray your floor with water to raise the humidity!
Environment and conditions are super important.
The light can also be drying out the air more and making things worse for you.
Yiiiiiiiikkes!
It’s ok, you can fix this quick and simple.
Foliar, Foliar, Foliar will help activate VPD and help raise the humidity in the entire garage.
I foliar almost everyday to help raise humidity and prevent bugs.

Hi @des. As suggested above is double doors, an open container of water infront of fans. Or get a small humidifier. you need to boost the 20% as fast as possible.

So how do you determine how much humidity to have in the room

Depends on what light ls you are using. Plants grown under leds need a higher ambient temp and higher humidity also. This is the vpd chart for led lights

I keep my temps between 80-85, so roughly around the 70-75 percent humidity.

I’ve used ultrasonic “mist makers” or “pond foggers” with good success. Make sure you buy them with a float - they only work well if they are exactly the right depth under the surface of the water. I built a custom float and put 3 of them in a 5 gallon bucket and set it in front of an oscillating fan to blow the mist into the room. In 2 minutes it brings the humidity up from 20% to 80% in a 5x10x7 room.
