I am about to buy some soil. I’ve been doing research on a super soil. Does anyone have any thoughts on what I should use. I was trying to grow organic. I was going to get some coast of Maine. I didn’t want to build my own I want to buy some like coast of Maine that has everything in it already.
if you most buy try to buy something local as you can ![]()
save yourself the added shipping cost
unless of course local will break the bank ![]()
where you located? building soil in January in upstate New York would be a bit hard for me ![]()
but come April/May
all the best

Love Build a soil. I love watching their videos. It’s like my morning coffee lol. @MrMonkey420
What soil recipe do you use. Or are you synthetic nutrients? @dequilo
inside I use Jack’s Classic 20-20-20 and 10-30-20 and ProMix BX/HP
whichever the wholesale is giving a deal ![]()
outside I have been building the soil in my garden since 1995 here when I bought the
place started with rocks, clay and hardpan
I have had at the least 3 horses and fowl on the place since then so my soil
is getting outstanding
plants love the ground

Try putting a fish under your plants. When you plant them.
Pretty much everything you’d mix up to make your own ‘living’ soil you can brew in a tea and feed to the plants/soil.
I’ve always ran with Ocean Forrest. If I’m trying to save $ Happy Frog.
I didn’t want to build my own I’m on a budget so I’m trying to get some with everything already mixed
They sell mixes too but I find em too expensive.
In your case I would use Promix or another peatmix, but buy a good quality one, and add 30% worm castings. Amend with Gaia Green dry amendments
and you’ll use the dry amendments for top feedings every 2-3 weeks as well. Working very well and it’s dead easy, no work.
is not cheap anymore
3.8 cuft here is over 50 dollars US
Yeah well. Sell some bud ey ![]()
not I too much like work
I know, it’s not cheap. But it’s all getting expensive I guess… For me it’s worth paying a little extra for the quality stuff, unless you like fighting bugs & critters!
yes indeed ![]()
last year the wholesaler did not have ProMix when I needed some
so he said I have Lambert AP which is just like ProMix BX
was cheaper and like growing in a bale of peat moss from Home Depot
turned acidic by the fourth watering
I have used ProMix since 1982 and will keep using it inside
outside I have Black Gold ![]()
