Hopefully they figure something out soon, certain your not to only individual having this issue, like you said that’s a lot of money spent for something that doesn’t work as advertised

Alright, i downloaded that app, i guess i got the correct one. Attached is the reading from the top of one of the plants. I put a piece of copy paper over the camera lens and checked it, but the reading was around 300. That can not be correct. Im just going to assume the quantity of light is sufficient. Its on full blast antway. I also have the “Photone” app and it also says a diffuser is required like the paper.

The better the camera the better the app works.

Yep that’s it. Get a piece of white paper and lay it over the front facing camera, they have great instructions to set it all up without buying an expensive diffuser.

And yes if your light is a couple of feet away it will read 200-300. It’s an eye opener. My LUXX is 860 watt and at 2ft it is only reading 442.

So, with this 700 watt light, shouldn’t I expect the PAR reading to be at least 800 at the top of the plant even with the diffuser? Because i only got 300 using the diffuser and the PPFD Meter app. I may just get a $25 light meter for plants that’s on sale at Amazon.

It totally depends on how far the plant is from the light, light loses it’s giddup real fast at any kind of distance at all. That is why a lot of mfg put concentrating lenses on their lights to get better specs on par readings at distance.

Like I said it’s an eye opener.

First you should clean the tent lol. its not a matter of how high it is, its about PPFD are the plants receiving optimal light? anything over 1000 is a waste with out CO2 supplementation.

I’m very excited to see how that light works out for you!

Yeah, I know the tent is a bit scroungy. I didn’t have a drip tray for the 10gal pot until today. The place where I got the light has the really large drip trays, so I got two 16" ers.
That place had a ton of great supplies. The guy gave me this 1lb bag of FloraFlex’s Bulky B. Have any of you used it? I haven’t.
I am very excited to see how my plants do now. The light meter is $25. I may do that one. My phone is Galaxy S20+, and would expect its camera to be really good, though.

Never used it. It is just a bloom enhancer, just P and K I can’t see anything special about it.

In that case, i guess I shouldn’t use it, especially since I use Dakine420 “Shock & Awe.”
However, I’ve yet to be shocked or awed. Not even subtley stunned or slightly startled. Now that I have 700 watts of light, maybe that will change.

No, you won’t be shocked or awed. lol. Sorry to say it, but I have bought into the whole keep adding more and more secondary add on’s and like you have never been shocked our awed.

With one exception, the Organics Alive nutrients. I have only been using them for a month or so, but when I changed from Crop Salts to Organics alive my plants immediately took off and continue to do stellar.

I haven’t gotten to their bloom stuff yet as I have a couple of more weeks to go in veg. I’ll let everyone know how they work start to finish. I bought their 6 plant bundle after trying their sample pack. I think you got that too didn’t you?

Anyway that is normal. It’s just salt nutrients just like everyone else sells.

I am quickly learning that there’s a lot of marketing hype about nutrients and boosters. I have not used anything other than dakine420, so I don’t have a point of reference for comparison. I did order Organics Alive sample pack several days ago. It hasn’t even shipped yet, they said they are backordered and are supposed to ship today, so it will probably be late next week before I get it. I’m probably going to cancel it.
I’m really excited about how the new light is going to work out.

I use Jacks 3-2-1 by JR Peters, arguably the best bang the buck and near the cheapest quality no heavy metal tested., I did a side by side comparison with Jacks, Athena AG and Cyco with gram differences between them with the same strain. I don’t use additives, as whats needed should be in your nutrients already, unless I’m having and issue, for example, Pineapple Haze plants needed more nitrogen so I used some liquid nitrogen (cyco). Companies pray on people with witty/clever advertising with pictures…

I was looking at Jack’s. I asked which products I i should use and he said its preferable that I have my tap water analyzed so he can recommend the best package. I don’t want to go to that trouble.
