Just germinated in soil, now she is so long she can’t stay up

Just germinated in soil, she popped up and grew fast, she is 7-8 inches long, and has maybe a 1/16 inch leaf on the top of her, but she is so tall and skinny she can’t stay up. Is this bad?? Should I plant her in more soil and try to cover her up like 5 inches and leave the top 2 exposed so I don’t have to support her to stand up right

That sounds like a good plan to me.

You could also consider staking the plant with something solid to support the stem, depending how long it has grown.

That’s what I would do and after repotting I would adjust my lights closer to avoid stretching. I use a cfl about 3 to 4 inches above the plant for seedlings. A good rule of thumb is if it’s too hot on the back of your hand , it’s too close. I have read that people have good results using a T-5 florescent also. Very little heat output so the light can be positioned very close to avoid stretching.
