I’ve recently obtained and configured an AC Infinity 4 x 2 x 6 tent, and loving it so far!! I am a first-time grower, as my state has recently legalized the growth of cannabis plants.
My plants are early along in the process and are only about one foot tall. I’m wondering, specifically with my grow light, if there is a better way to hang it on the ceiling so that I am able to get a little bit more height out of it. More specifically, I’m not loving the fact that the grow light mount is currently required to wrap around the exhaust tube, as that seems to limit how high the light can go.
I am unsure of whether or not this will truly become an issue as I enter the later stages of the grow, however I want to plan ahead so that I do not have to scramble when it’s time to flip the crop to flower.
What is everyone’s thoughts on this? I’d far prefer to keep the exhaust fan and carbon filter located inside of the tent, however I am open to suggestions.
Thanks in advance, and I am looking forward to using this online forum to continue to grow my knowledge in this world.
Welcome to the forum! If you are looking for vertical space, you probably should move the fan itself out of the tent, it will also decrease the amount of heat generated, I would move the carbon filter to the left side rear upper corner and run the duct to it. The AC Infinity Ion Boards do produce a lot of heat when on. You also might want to get circulation fans to help move air.
You can move the support bars around. They do not have to stay evenly on the ceiling…the only weight they bare or support they provide is for the exhaust and light setups.
What i would do is move one bar all the way to one side (preferably the side that the ceiling port is on, and put your exhaust out the top, while the inline and filter are to the same side. Then i would hang your light on the remaining support.
You shouldnt have to be putting the light hangars around the exhaust, as the exhaust doesnt need to be in the middle.
@olsonknight welcome to tje forum! I would do what @nacho151 suggesests. Also keep the filter close to the light. Because this will pull the heat from the light right out of the tent. Also make sure a lower vent is open so it can pull in cold air from below and as the hot air rises the cool air come in and give negative you air pressure. I also like to use maximum vertical space so i will actually poke holes in the roof of the tent and install eyelet hooks into the ceiling and i hang the lights on those then i can utilize every inch of space.
Use the other end and loop it over and use the clip to grab around the rope. And then you pull it up and get rid of that zip tie. If that breaks your plants are gonna get smashed and broken. Trust me on this. And if you want more room take the ratchets off and use the top support bar only and slip it throught you lights ropes and that will get you like 6 more inches higher.
well if the ratchet is upside down it has worked perfectly in both tents for years … the zip tie is rated at 50lb and is UV type for outdoors so I am ok in that area… eventually I take the clip on the bottom of the ratchet and connect it to the zip tie and that gives me another 4 inches in height… thanks for all your inputs …
Thank you so much for your input - it was very valuable and allowed me to quickly change my configuration! I am now running a different light which is not shown in the pictures (very disappointed with the AC Infinity IONBOARD line that came with the kit, and sprang for a Spiderfarmer SE4500).
I may add some 6" flexible ducting between the top of the tent and the fan/filter, but for now this has been a very good way to set it up.
