So I had to do some plant shuffling recently. That pepper plant ended up having aphids. I totally checked that plant out, looking closely at everything. It passed my eye test and went in the tent. I’m lucky I caught it very early just a few on one or two leafs. No signs of anything else since it was removed. Serrano plant is out back doing great.
Had to move these two blueberry cupcake plants to my friends backyard. They got way too big for the tent… all within a month basically. They were gonna be thru the roof once they’re flipped . I topped these after 2 nodes to keep them smaller. Didn’t work. My buddy will grow them and kick me back some bud.
I’m really happy with the white caviar so far. Really nice even growth structure. Same with the jelly ranchers.
Mac1’s are getting big will have to cut them back soon to keep them in line with the rest. I have 7 clones rooted that I don’t know what I’m gonna do with yet. I have 7 plants in the tent already
The lemon runtz is doing ok but it’s a smallish plant. It’s a runt. I think it needs a bigger pot too. I’ll take some pics when I get home later on
I like the white caviar. Got it just just to make crosses. Specifically my white Runtz x white caviar f3. You have the white caviar F4. The F3 is what i used. If i liked the strain a lot i will make my own seeds. So usually i will try and get regular photoperiod seeds.
Yeah perlite. I’m using in to combat the fungus gnats actually. The barrier causes a breakup of their egg laying cycle. Usually works to knock down their numbers. This is twice in a row now with this Recipe 420 soil that I’ve gotten tons of gnats. The soil is actually pretty good tho.
They’re also attracted to the color yellow. You can buy the sticky traps or just smear some vasoline on yellow paper to catch the flying ones
That is funny. Because im having a fungus nat problem as well. Now im going to have to try using the perlite to help. Thanks for the info @Maz
I just need some yellow sticky traps now .
Have you ever used diatomaceous earth for the bug’s? Was thinking of using that for the nats. Food grade of course.
Mosquito bits work wonderful for fungus gnats. Sprinkle them on top your pot and water it in or put some in your reservoir. I fill a 2 x 4 pressing sack and staple it closed and just throw it in the reservoir and let it float there. It works real good. DE is also a very good alternative. I use DE on my outdoor crop. I use DE with mosquito bits indoors. Since starting this regimen I don’t have a problem. My last indoor I only got about 10 or 15 fungus gnats on my sticky traps through the entire grow. That’s definitely a record for me.
Thanks for the info . I just have one plant in the tent for now. But I will look into the mosquito bits as well. First time having bug problems. Everything is a learning experience. Thankfully i have the best tutoring with the help of everyone on here. Much appreciated
You can get DE on Amazon with a duster bottle. They’re pretty cheap. I use it in my chicken coop too. Keeps the Bugs off the birds. And I usually dust the top of my pots once every two or three weeks. This really really helps prevent fungus gnats.
I use Dakine420 now. I used to use a liquid food from botanicare that worked good too, I’ll still use it when I don’t feel like mixing with dakine solids
And I use bag soil from the stores- ocean forest, happy frog and recipe420
I guess that doesn’t qualify me as organic but I’m not losing any sleep over that
