Looking great! My gardens slowly making stuff. Lots and lts if rain. Then the F’n deer ate the tops off all 5 of my tomato plants and a lot of stuff. There always running through my yard and the neighbors. My tiny dog zoe almost a a taste of deer hoof the other day we were all up in the yard and there was a deer totally still blending in me and both dogs didn’t notice but boy the second we did the tiny assassin chihuahua dog was on that deer like flies on shit! Lucky the deer kind sprung up as the dog was trying for an ankle so it couldn’t really kick or do much.

I definitely know the feeling with the deer around, that’s the reason for the fence, just enough to keep them out. I have to fence everything I plant, trees as well.

I got herds of deer, not to mention other critters, but I’ve never had a problem with em. I got a dozen apple trees less than 100 yards from my garden, and they like some of the other vegetation. The creek is just a couple dozen yards away too. I tell people I can’t bait for deer, they might get suspicious lol. Guess they are satisfied with the natural food, they leave all mine alone. Except tomatoes and corn… They’ll pick locks for that stuff lol. Good luck with fences, I’ve only heard of 15 footers slowing them down. Not stopping them, but it’s something.

I’ve used Phenoxpress for sex testing and I’m glad I was referred to them. Very fast turnaround and 100% accurate on the results. Definitely going back to them on my next round!

Check them out!

Yeah deer wont jump an obstacle if they cant see a landing zone. So its got to be a 15’ no see thru fence.

Well I’m guessing that with all the farmlands and other food around, my 5 and 6’ fences have been working for years. I have been lucky. And where I’m at the deer population ain’t no joke. Greenwood power plant property within a couple hundred yard of me. 4 square miles of archery hunted land, it is one hell of a sanctuary.

I like the sound of your area, peaceful. I guess the best way to deal with the deer is to give them other stuff to focus on lol. Manipulative? Maybe. I use the same idea dealing with my cats… And kids… AAAnd some people.

Didn’t know the reason behind it, just heard about the height. Awesome to know though.

Deer will also take the easier path if there is one to take. Now if it is rut the mature bucks will make you think wtf, but that is not that they are looking for food, lol.
