My favorite scissor are available from one of our sponsors

Shear Perfection Platinum Series Stainless Steel Bonsai Scissors - 40 mm

We uses to buy these shears in lots of 100 each year, first directly from Japan. Then we found a USA distributor. They are dishwasher safe. We put them in our dishwasher every night. They where inexpensive enough we did not care if they were lost or abused. We had a local knife sharpener who came to us once a month to sharpen our scissors and knives.

Twenty-five years since I last bought these and we still have two. We uses them all the time around the house. They are still my favorite scissors and they don’t cost what my Felco shears cost.

My only wish is they would still come in different handle colors. We used the handle color to control which crop they where used on. They can be placed in a bucket of disinfect during the day.

Those are nice, but I prefer Senshi. Smooth as silk, with very little build up of scissor hash. No spring to get in the way and muck up over time either.

The choice in shears for me was so limited 30 years ago. The big thing for us at the time was that we could think of them as disposable.

I hadn’t thought of sap build up, but if you can buy enough of them you just switch out the dirty for clean pair.

For me it was just a nice reminder of a different age.

Cheers.
