I’m trying to buy more but the wife says I have way to many. I say I don’t have enough
I have come to a silent understanding - I don’t tell my wife when I buy more seeds and she doesn’t tell me when she buys more shoes
Chief,
Congratulations on the signing of the Armistice !
Let there be PEACE in the Kingdom!!!
My nutrient company sent me some swag and I’m not realy into swag but I am into black T-shirts and asked me to take a picture in front of my tent for the hunt program that I’m a part of. So here I am in all my glory wishing you the happiest of days. These days I’m pretty happy almost all the time I’m working on all the time.
and before you could blink an eye another room bites the dust -
excuse the mess, but this used to be my office - but it is now my nursery for seed and clone starting
I have more work to do, but this is my starting clone growing area
this grow box has my solo cup challenge and my NECotton Candy Rock Candy flowered cutting that I am trying to reveg and grow out this summer.
The top incubator box will take care of my seed starting
and the bottom will have cuttings for rooting
Its not pretty, but I will take functional - the only thing wrong with this room is it doesn’t have a door so I can’t be clandestine about what’s going on in there haha - but when I think about it why should I? I am proud of it LoL - thanks for stoping by…
Week 5 in the big tent and week 3 in the small tent
Flowers everyWHERE!
I am very happy with the modification I did to the autopot - once I learned how to feed the right amount at the right time, I have seen a marked difference in the health and vigor of my plants - I will be making a more permanent solution with food grade pcv piping this summer -
Thanks for looking and
Happy Easter and everyDAY.
I’m with ya @ravenchief. Mine is in the garage but I enjoy starting my day with a cup of coffee and an early visit to the indoor garden to check in with the girls. It helps me start my workday with a sense that all is well… before I jump into 10 hours of corporate nonsense and BS. Looking forward to retiring in the next 3 years (or tomorrow!!!). I look forward to being a gentleman farmer full time. We will see.
its WONDERFUL @mrwonderful
Speaking as a retired individual, life becomes incrementally harder as you have to deal with Americans less and less daily. The break from people that retirement provides initially can sometimes be enough to help you see just how silly and thoughtless most people are, and if you are anything like me, you are probably going to stop leaving the house after it is no longer a necessity.
But spending the whole day with your ladies is nice
Well when you work in machine repair/ maintenance in an injection molding plant for the last 30+ years you see how brain dead people are. So I am SO looking forward to retirement, it can’t come soon enough.
I live way out in the country so I know about the hard work, lol
Curious, what mods you have made? I run autopots too and its so brainless once you get to open the valve. Still have to hand/top feed adjuncts/bugs/etc, to not muck up the rez but thats only once a week. Only clear solutions in my rez. and it only drifts roughly .3 in a week, any adjuncts and its overnight and a PIA to clean.
Thanks
Man wish i could retire. Ive been in customer service for 31yrs. And im so sick of doing my job working commission and having to meet sales goals and the god forsaken monthy meetings and getting up at 4:30 am. I hate sales meetings. I hate working for other people. I hate working. Damn ive only got 160k saved up for retirement and i want to sell my house and move. My wife doesnt want to move arrgg. I want to move to the country. Hard work doesnt scare me either but my wife. Cant live off grid and i really need electricity for my grows. So total offgrid is off the table for now.
I spent most of my career in sales too - traveled a lot - now I like to travel within
Hi @Dog_Fart1
I like to feed all kinds of sicky, goooey, smelly, cloggy stuff like humics, sugars, silica, and the like - The res doesn’t like that stuff and I used to turn the res off and feed directly into the trays but that clogged up the silicone and other parts easily -
Because I feed synthetic nutes the salt rises to the top 1-2 inch layer and top watering (unless you are feeding organics through the res and trays) can cause the salt to impact your rootzone negatively - I have top watered before and there was no damage, but I prefer not to test my luck and since I wanted to do this more often I came up with this mod
I want to top feed compost teas/humics/sugars and other additives that I do not want to put in the reservoir and/or the trays but directly in the media. I took a 1/2" food grade tube, put some holes around the inside of the tube and corked it on one side. I then inserted it around the where the stalk will be with the lip poking out- I will use large syringes to plunge the fluids through the tubing and directly into the media -
I only put in 100ml of feed through the tubes so it doesn’t leech into the trays and mess up my silicone caps -
But its working great once I got it dialed in…
Ahh clever, I see, nice even distribution right on top of the feeders. What are you about 1/2 down the pot?
So what’s next step? Elevated rez, restriction valve and a timer valve like for garden sprinklers.
I put the tube about 2 inches below the surface - safely below the salt layer - the holes point in and down so the feed goes directly around the central stalk so the rootzone gets its share
I like the way the system works when it works well - this modification allows for my growing style and for the autopot to still work well LoL
Very cool, I’m watching along as it progresses. Grows look amazing.
Thank you so much @Dog_Fart1
they are mid-way through flower and I can give them the stuff the microbes love in abundance with no clogs - a happy microbe is a happy plant haha
This also has prevented the occasional plant that stops wicking late in flower and dries up overnight (which has happened to me) - so I like the flow both bottom up and top down - kind of like breathing
@Dog_Fart1 @ravenchief im going to be setting up an outdoor bell syphon outdoor table in my veggy garden. Id love to have a bell syphon powered aquaponic set up but it freezes here in winter and its not legal here or i would be already doing aquaponics because 2 of my friends are shop owners and 1 is a hydroponics store. And the other is aquaponics store?
