New grower, outside

Hey all

Just got given 2 white widow plants, which ill be growing outside. Super excited to give this a go. Have some big pots, putting in perlite for aerating the soil, and then using some stuff called Go Go juice as my fertiliser.

How was your first grow? And what was the main learning you got from it?

Cheers

I started growing outside back 1974

would have been great if The Police did not cut it down and the local firemen

did not burn it :frowning:

Mexican Sativas get really tall

all the best in your outside grow

Never grew outside, but my first attempt at a grow was well…

Sometime around 2005 in TX while staying in my parents home I decided I would construct a closet grow. Aluminum foil lined cardboard box, plastic tote ebb&flow system, $100 light fixture, and fox farm. Man I was ready. Funny thing is, it was a decent setup. I mean, I was proud of it. I think I may have went about 3 weeks undetected until my mother bless her heart while getting ready to get dinner going left a cast iron pot on the stove (burner on) and smoked out the whole house. I wasn’t home at the time but from what my father told me was that she went around opening all the doors and windows in the house…BUSTED!!! LOL Pops told me “Boy yo mama ain’t used to no sh** like that, it gotta go” I packed my setup and babies up, transported them to a friends house with HOPES of continuing but we all know how that goes…That was the END of my very first grow.

Damn that sucks. I got mine hidden behind a shed, folks will never go back there haha
Thinking of a grow tent perhaps in my shed at some point too if this doesnt work out.

Definitely, it’s all good though. I’m still growing inside, just in my own place and using tents now.

What are some things i should look out for with my grow? Things you think might get overlooked to a newbie?

Are your plants in the ground? Did you dig a hole and put hardware wire in it to keep gophers from getting directly to your root ball? Is there a vegetable garden nearby that’s gonna get full of aphids and things that are going to get on your plants and cause problems. Do you have an IPM program. that is basically treatment for possible mold, and pests. that’s all I can think of off the top of my head. I’m going to tag both you guys over to my journal. I have grown the way both of you are growing. I’m not very good at journaling, but there is quite a bit there to look at. This will at least give you somewhere to start. hope it helps you…:+1:t3::v:t3:
