I am currently growing several autoflowers between my two tents and I had some extra space. I thought it would be a fun idea to start vegetating a photoperiod plant while also growing autos in the same tent, all with the intent to GROW A TREE!
Well, maybe not a tree… But the idea of vegetating a photo in the same tent as my flowering autoflowers sounded like a fun experiment! Since the environments are pretty much the same, I figured it would be a good way to take advantage of the space and 3 months of autoflower growth.
The idea is to switch my lights to 12/12 once my autos finish, and hopefully I can fill out my entire 2 x 4 with one massive plant! This plan would lead to a more efficient growth in terms of length of time, as the plant would be vegetating for months while my autos finish up. I am all about efficiency!
I selected OG Kush for my grow for 2 reasons. It was available (and free), and I love some strong indicia as I deal with some pretty bad chronic pain. Plus, I remember growing it with my father back in 2010 and it was delicious out of a Volcano Vaporizer!
The intent of this grow journal is to show what the process is like, focus on some LST and grow-through grid utilization, and get some advice along the way on potential size, nutrient use, and when to pull my finished plant.
Here are some initial specifications for seeds, soil, nutrients, and grow environment:
Seeds: OG Kush Feminized from Royal Queen Seeds
Soil: Paonia Soil Co.: The Bomb 50/50 Mix
Nutrients: Ventana Plant Science (VPS) + FlavUh + Stash Blend
Note on nutrients: The combination of these three nutrients yielded fantastic results for my first run. The VPS feeding chart easily walked me through each week of nutrients and adding Stash blend helped me with some easily noticed deficiencies during the first few weeks of flowering. Consistent feeding using these nutrients is absolutely recommended for plant health, yield, and flavor! If you are interested in VPS + FlavUh, find it on GrowersHouse and be sure to use the code VPS25GN for 25% off ANY VPS products!
