A lot of companies are charging a lot of money to provide people with a binder of SOPs and GMPs to meet regulation. $50,000 gives you a bare minimum of guidelines to successfully be granted a licence. Does anyone know of an open community who are putting together a shared set of SOP and GMP to help get some hard working growers into making a real living? If it doesn’t already exist, is anyone interested in collaborating on a project like that?
I met someone that may be willing to help, he’s only asking a few grand to do so ATM… But he knows the ropes for sure;) I’ll text him in the am and see what he’s willing to help w.
That sounds great. I’d like to put together a full binder that has everything - from an fill in the blanks organizational structure, to a potential site plan and layout to SOPs that outline every step of cultivation. It’s not complicated stuff, but it’s a large amount of stuff.
Free is great for sure, ud be a hero to many even if it cost a grand or two tho I’d think, just my thought haha;)
I meet monthly with a few different groups who are either on the independent retail/dispensary side of things, or going through the process with Health Canada to get their site and procedures approved. There is a ton of confusion about the process overall, but there are also a lot of people who understand small parts in depth. I want to try to put all of that knowledge in one place so everyone trying to get into the regulated market can benefit.
You will change many ppls lives , hopefully forever
Interesting… we have so many huge Health Canada licensed farms around my area… it is an emerald triangle… but anything to help hit the ground running would be awesome…
It would be a dream come true to own a licensed micro grow here in niagara. I honestly didn’t think it was possible with the amount of massive competition and rigged lotteries…
The lotteries are for dispensaries not grows… I am 3 hours west of you @davesnothere… here we have some massive players… Tilray and Spectrum etc… they diverted their medical cannabis to rec and didn’t care about their medical people…because rec has more $$$ then medical…
It seems like the whole industry right now is very cut throat… Is there really any room for micro growers to compete with the big players?
Every time I talk with provincial wholesalers and dispensary owners they are excited to work with and get product from Micro Cultivators. I believe the market for craft will grow. Right now the LPs are buying up all of the former medical operations that were high quality or organic for millions to try and diversity their offerings, and people are paying for it. Whistler Cannabis Co. sells “Organic” 1/8’s for nearly $90 and they’re some of the fastest moving products at my local dispensaries. They also produce some of the best bud I’ve bought from a storefront, so your average customer is getting more picky about flower.
It’s going to be interesting to see what happens when concentrates and and edibles hit the shelves, but I customers getting turned off by top shelf, boutique or “organic” options.
…lol… I grow organic pounds for about $90/lb by the end of the season…lol…less if I get more pounds…lol…
