That’s a nice one. I’m thinking about the other two rooms with your lighting

My budget for lighting was a mere 5k. So, I could only get the 8SP’s due to that I have 3

5k is a ton of cash to me! Still pushing to get the home setup nicer. Luckily the investors want lighting choices, this is a great one. 3.4 output is awesome! With 4.9 ir is insane!

How often can you defoliate cannabis in bloom? Something I was reading a lot about today. I’ve seen this done with @slym3r grow. At my level of growing I’m following my preferred method to remove occasional leaves from time to time throughout bloom rather than conduct a major one-off cannabis defoliation.around week 3 of flowering.

Most growers are mindful that cannabis leaves are also the energy-collecting solar panels which provide the power to drive photosynthesis. For that reason growers are aware of the potential dangers of excessive cannabis defoliation. Some growers will restrict themselves to a defoliation in the first half of bloom.

I am removing down to 30 percent remaining. Removing all branching i deem non fruiting at day 0 on flip to flower. Then at day 21 i will remove all leaves and anymore branching that looks unproductive.

I don’t believe its unproductive, I thought it was cool when I seen yours. I believe its a matter of preference, but for me I’d be scared as F to do any stripping. Mainly due to my lack of experience.

I am grooming the plant for all “A” bud.

No larf. The more larf hanging around the less “A” structure happens.

If the root mass is substantial, cannabis is like a bush you could mow down to the ground and it keeps growing.

I only want thick branching.

Understand there’s personal preference involved. From my observations, it seems Slym3r is correct in removing all unproductive small branches and growth not receiving light at the flip.

Also understand that with hydro systems you have more leeway because ALL the plants have maximum nutrient availability throughout the grow.

In soil/hybrid mixs, you’re going to be more likely depending on those nurients stored in the fan leaves to support that bud development…again JMHO but I think if your growing in soil/hybrid media you’re better off doing frequent light defoliation as necessary throughout bud development…

Also remember once your bud starts to develop, keep a close eye on those lower leaves…if they start yellowing you KNOW you have nutrient robbing and need to gradually bump those nutes up…or you definitly will sacrafice bud density…
