Outdoor Michigan growing help

Is there any Michigan growers here? This will be my first grow and it’s mainly to help friends and family out, plus I enjoy smoking it for sure!
Doing my research I’ve gotten mixed answers on when to plant and what to plant.
The strains I’m looking to grow are:
Trench buddy
Gold leaf
Northern lights
Grand daddy purp
White widow or gorilla glue (undecided yet)

These seem to be the Michigan friendly for outdoor grows.

Like stated before It’s my first grow, so guidance is needed. I won’t be planting in the ground because I have a serious ground mole problem so I know there are lots of insects in my soil.

When should I plant? Start inside? Feminized or autoflower? Pot sizes? Any help and pointers are greatly appreciated!

You can start them inside, if you have proper lighting to start them. February is a good time to start them, and about April after the last frost is a good time for them to go outside. I would put them directly in the ground. Less issues that way with the summer heat.

I’m in Michigan. I also grow outdoors. I start indoor in February, but wait until the last week of May or first week of June. I plant in the ground with soil additives. They grow much larger and healthier.

I grow a variety. Mine grow like beasts… they were over 14 feet!
This last grow i had GSC, Purple Urkle, Momma Thai, Skywalker, Bubba Kush, pineapple express, Cream&Cheese, CBD…
In Michigan you need to be able to cut your grow by October, FYI to be safe from frost.
What area of Michigan are you from @dillydilly? I’m in the thumb…

Second week on average in may for planting outside. Northern Michigan maybe not …April at times still snow on the ground to cold even in southern Michigan…Depending on the strain our outside goes till the end of Sept. Early Oct here in SW Michigan… Northern lights does good here outside but haven’t grown any for yrs and the Gold leaf just started that indoors maybe a month ago so can’t help you there…Grew Gg and Gg#4, Hawaiian Snow,Plunton all outside this year all did awesome…Wish you the best!
