Ph Meters what do you use?

Hey growmies,

I would like to invest in a new ph Meter. Right now I’m using a vivosun one and it’s honestly pretty terrible but only 10 bucks so you get what you pay for ( i also have a testing solution i use to verify)… ideally i would like to spend less than about 50 but Id pay more if it’s nice enough. I was thinking the ac infinity but 160 for tds and ph no ty amd 60 for just ph with no second decimal yeah no… what do you all use? Any good suggestions?

Yeah i was looking at that one and after looking at some other and the prices I’m reconsidering the ac infinity one and theres a better looking vivosun one that does ec salinity temp… is that one waterproof? I dropped my vivosun one in water and i can’t get it to work now lol

I have the AC meter it is a very good stable meter. Love it. Nice plastic case for it too. Not that that has anything to do with the operation, but nice to have to put up in.

It stays stable day to day, and comes up the same each time I use it. (keeping it in PH 7.0 solution) It settles and reads out very fast, and stays put. Very happy.

None…I grow in organic soil. My water from my well comes out at 6.5 - 6.7 my soil will buffer it to whatever it needs.
Haven’t used a pH meter for a grow in years.
I check my pH a few times a year with my Taylor pool test kit…and test the pool…use a bit of pH up getting it to 7.4 - 7.6 for the pool.
That’s it…this is me watching my buddy using his ph meter in front of me…:flushed:

I should dig out my old ph meter I have somewhere and give it to him…it’s a Blue Labs one…cost me an arm n a leg too…but…when you are an idiot…it’s costly…

PH meters are inherently unreliable in general. We are still using old 40-50 year old tech with the glass bulb and wick. Most brands will work ok if you don’t get a dud and take care of them, keep them hydrated etc Most PH meters last for a max of 2 years I’ve found despite price and brand. Just have PH buffers on hand to regularly check that your meter is reading accurately.

Thanks yeah I’m leaning towards just spending the money and getting it. After seeing how much a decent reliable ph Meter was going for i think od rather spend the extra few bucks and go with a reliable vendor like ac infinity … all there equipment ive gotten from them is grade a quality

I decided to go with a better vivosun only 30 bucks so far so good does tds ec and doesn’t take forever to get to a reading it’s not instant but significantly quicker than the 7 dollar one
