Here is a single pic of the top of one of them taken yesterday it is the far right top bud on the monster lol.

Starting to get some sparklers already. Yesterday was one day past 3 weeks after flip. Would appear I need to back off my nutes just a bit. Been feeding them two gallons of triple strength each day.

Well despite being a hard headed ol coot…I have finally come to realize the value of RO water. Still waiting on my float/fill shutoff system for the barrel. Got the 4 stage RO RI filter system, all the fittings and then forgot the fill float for the drum. Got this drum from a guy that buys the barrels from a Pharmaceutical company that is local. Food grade, 1/4" thick UHDPE. They had a surfactant in them for pill making machines so should be OK. Unless I start growing a third arm or three eyes lol.

I’m about there… Notice the water line right next to the barrel, won’t be much work to install. Already have the bulkhead valve installed. 31 gallons, 107 liters. Put it up on blocks so I could get a 3 gal bucket under the spigot. Still have to get the L fitting for the spigot too, thought I had one from my HVAC days, but only had one which I put on a rain water barrel outside that I put next to my garden.

Damn that’s a gorgeous POTG pic

Surfactant won’t be an issue and the barrel was def thoroughly rinsed prior to disposal so the trace amounts will be negligible :+1: that’s really cool, I feel like a child right nowā€¦ā€OoOohhhh I want an RO system!!!ā€

Oh boy you are wrong about that lol. The stuff in the barrel was no where near cleaned out. I looked it up from the label and it was listed as non toxic in any way shape or form. BUT they didn’t clean the barrels out. It was water soluble, and if you let it dry it looked like crystal clear glass and hard as a rock, but if you hit it with water it melted. When it was half dry it was sticky as all get out. It took a hundred gallons of water to clean all 4 barrels out and it was in every little crevice in the lid and the groove around the top lol. Had to scrub it with a brush it stuck to everything.

I guess since it was non-toxic they figured they didn’t have to clean it out, and they didn’t lol.

But no big deal, I got the barrels for $8 ea. I picked up 4 of them one for each downspout on my house except the one by my garden and I got a 60 gal for that one. The RO buddie was $60 and the float kit was $18. I already had the other plumbing stuff from my days in maintenance.

Me too! I’ve been looking at them for a couple of years now. The city well I’m connected (I live out of town) to was refurbished a month ago and they added chlorine into the mix!

Your telling me it’s spelt spigot!!! No friggen wonder it keeps putting red lines under spicket everytime I write it. Just like that - I’m smarter more I can feel it!

Damn no, that’s still irresponsible and shows why pharma has a shitty public view. I thoroughly rinse out my buffer bottles that are just salt based (NaCl) before I dispose the containers!!! Surfactant is the fancy science word for ā€œdetergentā€ and they just help molecules be more soluble in water, but still proper waste disposal is and should be a major focus for any life science company. I work in the science industry and both companies i’ve been with so far have had our own waste/water treatment plant onsite, and third party collection for waste we can’t or don’t want to handle.

Ahhhhhhh ok…lol. Well waddaya do wit the taminated water? I just let it run inta the mater patch, figered it would keep the maters from fallin offin the vine, being it was so sticky. Or glue the squirrles choppers shut when they tried etin dem.

This is just a little mini tutorial for everyone. I discovered it by accident. If there is one picture in a post and you click it with your mouse it blows up, then if you click it again it gets really really blown up.

But if you have two or more photos in a post, clicking it will blow up the first one, then clicking again will rotate you through all the pics. However if you are in a post with multiple pictures, click one it blows up then if you RIGHT click the picture and select open in new window, then put your mouse pointer over the picture it changes to a circle with a plus sign in the middle of the circle. Then if you click it will blow up that picture yet again. Now this is if you are using a windows 10 PC.

I just thought I would mention it in case anyone didn’t know they could do that.

Ok going back to bed now lol…

Well been busy today making the board to hold the RO unit above the barrel and tap into the water line. Had a friend come over…then a couple of bowls…then I glued the damn top down when I only wanted to glue the bottom down where the spigot is. But we had fun lol.

No way I was just talking to my roommate about getting this and making a Stan for it so we can move it around

Well I have a 31 gal barrel that will be right under it, and a float shutoff system on it so it ain’t going nowhere lol. You have to have waste water lines and the holding tank lines unless you just stand there and wait for it to fill a bucket. I just want to go down stairs, open the tap on the barrel run a few gallons out for my grow and let it fill back up.
