Possible WPM or just a dumb mistake? could use some veteran opinions

i got 16 plants in this 8x4 all in house genetics and lit farms strains… i had the start of a gnat problem due to some crappy local dirt i got in a rush cuz i decided not to prep and just germinated 16 seeds on a whim…lol… anyways i did solve it tho atleast so far been bout 4 days and i havent seen any when i tap the buckets or anything but i saw this last night… now i did put a LOT of DE on 2 of the plants ( on the soil )like 2 hrs after i watered them… so it obviously just soaked up the water and got all gooy… so i didnt put anymore…so im thining MAYBE the wind in tent blew it around when it dried? ( i got 3 fans and a exhaust fan in tehe tent ) i just transplanted them into the 3 gal yesterday right b4 i noticed this ( use Fox farm this time ) so tell me what do u guys think?

HI @stonedftw420

Thanks for your message. Going to answer as best as possible. I think you havve a combination of issues there. One might be an insect, like scale, barnacles or the likes, however saying that your last picture looks more like WPM. The fluctuations in your tempratures could be the reason. So I think you need to look at a proactive approach to resolving the issue before it gets out of hand. Lets also ask a couple other members for their expert opinion, @Slym3r , @PreyBird1 , @nacho151 .

Can you see any further signs, e.g insects on the stems, underside of the leaves etc.

I would recommend using stylet oil. Your plants will love it bugs and mold Don’t. you can use it as a preventative half strength once every 7 to 10 days. It’s also inexpensive compared to most of these type products. don’t wait to treat it. It’s not gonna get any better. :+1:t3:

This remove all mosquito and gnat larve. One drop each time you run liquid. Any liquid. 6 drops cleans 500 gallons of water. One drop is plenty. Each time. Removes larva in 24 hours.

The other looks like you got de all over everything. Wipe it off and see if it returns.

It seems like the DE might’ve clumped together when it got wet, and then the fans spread it around. As long as you haven’t seen any more pests and your plants are adjusting well after the transplant, you should be fine—just keep an eye on them for any new problems!

Yes this is right. I use this same oil or horticultural oil same thing. Works great spray every 2 weeks regardless if you have pest or not. Better to prevent the bug then trying to contain an infestation! And @Slym3r is right for the fungus gnats. Fungus gnats can show up anytime. Not just bad soil. Overwatering causes them to show up.

so yeah i got some copper fungicide and some bti ( dunks ) i got the dunks soaking in water res now ill water tomorrow with it i also sprayed the copper stuff lightly on tops of plants and bottom of the 1s that look the worse so still no more signs of gnats or other pest but ima use the dunks just to be safe idk tho man i have 3 years of growing n seen alot of bs but i never seen anything looking like this… and i have gnats almost every run ( i always get rid of em tho ) the plants seem extra healthy except for the weird damage/spots… and it looks like a slight def or toxcicty might be going on now 2 but thats no worry

oh and i just remembered i had them in 1 gal at first and they were so close to the dirt some were 100% touching especially after waterings can that cause something like this? i feel like i have heard of it causing problems but then im like it literally lives in dirt so i dnt understand why it would…

The leaf with all three tips rolled up on it in the above picture I would just remove. The stalk of the plant has bark which touches the dirt the leaves are different story little more sensitive I have leaves touching the ground all the time and Just remove them, unless the plant is real small. But you can get disease from the soil an it also gives ground dwelling insects a place to climb on your plant and just start eating.
There’s a couple of glimpses of the new growth under the big leaves. That stuff all looks really healthy. When you’re bigger leaves start showing problems, (especially at the bottom of the plant) you look at the new growth and see how it’s doing. more often than not at least for me, but the problem has already been solved by the time the plants start showing a problem. so, always take a look at your new growth before you make any drastic changes. Not that you’re planning on making drastic changes, just sayin.

thx man yeah yesterday it looked like they were getting worse by the minute but i watered them this morning ( its been 3 days they were DRY… ) and they looking really good im bout to go in there and take off any leaf that looks bad and let it do its thing the last 3 days iv been in there way to much i kno they want me to leave em alone now LOL! i want to feed em but im also thinking i see a def or toxicity ( the shiny light green inside of the darker green on some leaves ) i feel like its the bugs that caused that cuz my ph of run off was 6.9 some were 6.7 the highest was a 7.0 and that was 2 of 16 plants… so ima wait 1 week until feed unless u guys think otherwise?
