I thought it was in Spitsbergen, Norway, but you could be right. And, yes, they do, but they can mangage humidity in their vaults, something I can’t in my freezer lol.

I wasn’t sure exactly where it was, Probably is Norway…colder than a witches behind wherever it is…but the humidity is controlled by the fact that the glass and metal don’t allow humidity to change. At least not enough to matter. I have like I said done it this way for 20+ years and they still sprout. Sooner or later though, everything goes bad, even in the seed vaults. I am sure they have a breeding program for heirloom seeds to replenish them from time to time? Hopefully they do, just like pot we are loosing our biodiversity, through hybridization and genetics. That’s why good landraces are so hard to find, they are if you think about it just heirloom seeds.
Anyway for our purposes…20 years is plenty lol. If you haven’t grown them by then you probably won’t lol.

Thanks Marty, I will experiment with it, because I have genetics that I’m trying to preserve for a LONG time lol, as long as life allows me to walk this globe at least.

Yeah I looked it up now, it is in Spitsbergen. It was in the back of my head because I’ve once seen a documentary about it. I’ve always wanted to visit the place ever since, Spitsbergen is a very unique place on earth, it’s also one of the prime spots to witness an aurora. I have a mate in Norway, he lives in Stavanger. This summer he came down to Belgium on his naked bike, and together we rode south through France on our bikes, all the way to the Pyrenees. I want to visit him, I should ride North, and travel Norway, it’s not that far. That would be a good time.

Ok throwing down some of my original Runtz seeds and since they are 6yrs old and i only have 4 left i just used them all. I have 9 seeds going 4 are runtz.
I love to grow seeds in these tiny shot glass solo cups. No need to waste media on seedlings

I love these led t5 tubes. There 40 watts each so 80 watts for 2 of them. I have 12 more bulbs in my inventory. You cant buy these anymore and they have uva led chips.

Where did the seeds come from. Many years ago they said that strain was a fad strain. There were no seeds. Then in 2020 they named it as the strain of the year and now there are way to many Runtz strains. That strain was never released to anyone. I got my seeds from california actually my friend from comptom California. He got me 2 lbs of runtz and white Runtz the strain is not stabalized. How do you think i got seeds back in 2017-2018. I started messing with that strain way back then. And i knew it wasnt a fad strain. I have 5000 seeds of both runtz and white runtz and im actually running my last 3 Runtz seeds. I still have white Runtz seeds also (edit and i didnt finish this. The white runtz strain is the most unstable of the 3 strains. They were Runtz, white runtz, and pink runtz. I don’t care for the pink Runtz. And after 2lbs of the flower i found 23 seeds in the runtz and 28 in the white Runtz. And after years of testing and regrowing this strain and crossing it. The white Runtz can herm 15% of the time. The Runtz can pop out some small male anther flowers at about 8.7-9 weeks as its over ripe. Anther flowers are the single male flowers not a full on male flower that opens up and has all the little bannanas/anthers inside. Instead the flower manifests itself as single anthers poking out of the flower instead of the male flower cluster. Heres a pic for a better visual of the flower parts.

I did not know of all this history on the Runtz line…I got mine form Seedsupreme as a free gift…I occasionally heard someone grow it and they were pleased with it and so that is why I decided to try it out… I am also growing a cross of Kona Gold and Panama Red that a friend grew out…has some of that old landrace terpenes…

Thats cool man. Yeah i have some vietnamese black seeds. There a sativa landrace. Had 4 growing and i had to shut down and lost them. So i might grow some more out but its 180+ days to flower it out. I also have a Hmong Thai seeds from Thailand that a preservationist was trying to find the thia stick which is exstinct now.
