Lol it was late last night and didnt want to do it last night. Im in the middle a massive deep cleaning of my entire grow op. New tents new venting tubing, filters. Ive got 50% of it finished. I just took clones for the new runs. And i have 11 mother plants to put into flower.

There all hanging out in a tiny 2’x4’x60" tent.
Yep we have
Runtz
White runtz
Lava freeze
Nyc diesle
Big buddah cheese
Pirates booty
Lemon og
Skywalker haze
Monkey slapz but 3 plants.
Im working on a couple other strains. I just completed the pirates booty Run and i could not get the plants to reverse so i just did an open pollination of the 2. I have 4 of those seed in the test grow tent.

So far I haven’t had a problem with anything falling into the reservoir valve area, I just leave the lid on over the valve. I double root blocked mine. Put the disc in the bottom of the pot and also put the slip on boot over the bottom outside of the pot. You can buy the slip on extra. I just thought they would do a much better job of keeping the roots out of the valve area than the discs on the inside bottom that roots will just go right around the edge of.

Sometimes I think too much lol

The roots do get past the valves a tiny bit. But i havent had an issue with that. I have had roots travel 3 feet into the hudro systems tubing and actually get into the resivoir and almost get sucked into the circulation pump.

Ok i spent the day resetting and cleaning autopots and my hydro sytem. Is all set back up in the new tent as well. It took me 3 hours to clean 7 auto pots, valves, trays and all the parts. The hydro sytem and transplant 7 plants.

I still have room for 10 more plants. I have 7 more and 12 clones. And 7 more seedlings rolling.

Yeah on that I have some questions for you Prey if you have the time. Do you have any problems with bio-film or nutes dropout with the Dakine nutes and the autopot reservoir?

This is my first run with the autopots and they are giving me a fit. I tried to use the Organics Alive nutes in them and it turned into a complete mess. White gummy stuff in the tank and in the valve area. Pulled the pots out of the holder cleaned all that off the bottom of the copper root sock, and drained and cleaned the valve area, then changed to Crop Salts and added their run-clean in with the water to keep it from scumming up. Seems to be ok now.

My plants really like the OA nutes, but that stuff only holds in solution for about 2-3 days. Then it gets a milky cloudy color then everything turns to a clearest white gummy mess. It doesn’t like PH up or down stuff either. Nor does it like run clean. I have figured out that it is ok if used within a day or two, or used as a top water only in soil. Their main nutes are not complete, also don’t make the mistake of putting Epsom salts in with it either. Pretty much it doesn’t like anything mixed with it. It does test out at about 5.9 PH fresh mixed.

Also are you running a sub pump in the tank to keep things mixed up? Crop salts recommends that you use a sub pump 15 min every couple of hours on a timer. Any tips would be appreciated.

If you don’t mind my asking, what nutes are you running in your autopots? And do you/have you had any problems with bio-films or nute dropout? I love the auto watering from the bottom, but they are very finicky about what you can use in them. They don’t work well with anything organic has been my limited experience in the couple of months I have been using them on this grow.

Thanks for any tips and product you have found that you use that works well.

Thanks!

Marty, I’m still running Jacks and top feeding all my organics/crobes etc. Jacks in the rez is great for a week or so, as the pH will naturally rise and I don’t bother to adjust unless I have to top it up or it hits 6.2. I try not to have the rez last more than a week, so if i have an issue its simple and fast to fix. I add a splash (couple fl oz) KClO to my rez, just for peace of mind.

Yes anything organic in the rez has been a recipe for a mess and disaster in my experience too…I keep organic adds to top fed only.

Fantastic, so we are on the same page. I started doing my micros, and liquid cal, and microbes from the top too. But I am having a DUH moment lol…what is KCIO??

Thanks the the input!!

Hypochlorous HClO with Potassium Salt KClO

Really just to keep rez and lines clean, keep algal blooms and biofilms in check…it dissipates in the time in rez lines and trays so I dont worry about it jacking with the crobes in the medium.

Making it per Bobs recipe ages ago in that little teapot generator, using Potassium Chloride so called heart healthy salt substitute. Came in crazy handy during the Covid nonsense.
