Problems with my first hydro attempt

Can anyone help with what may be causing my plant to look like this? This is my first shot at hydro.
She was started in rockwool and when roots broke through moved to the bucket. This picture was taken on day ten. She hasnt really looked right from day 2 or so.
Room temp runs about 73 degrees. The water temp is pretty stable at 69 with a ph fluctuating between 5.7 and 6.1. At the moment nutes are running at 900 ppm or so and I am using GHE Micro series along with cal/mag. Lighting is viparspectra 600 watt and at the moment is at 38 inches above.
Im not sure whats going on but it just seems droopy and almost like dried out. She also is getting some browning type of thing going on along the edges and near tips.
Any ideas?

I’ve never done Hydro, but 900 ppm sounds like it is way to high for a little one like that. You should probably be around 200 ppm. Just my guess, nute burn.

As @sssportsmfg stated I agree I keep clones and seedlings at 300-400ppm . Where’s the water level maybe to high? I leave my level just below bottom of net pot. Also have the hydro pebbles been cleaned of all the dust and ph’d to 7?

The water level is just below the bottom of basket. I have been top feeding and the first root tips have come out of the bottom of the basket this morning. Pebbles were all done as you stated. How long are these little ones considered seedlings. I thought once they had popped then the first week after was seedling. I had them (nutes) in the 300 range that week and just bumped up at day 8. The issue however was even present early on though not as pronounced. I will let the nutes thin out as she drinks and i top off this week.
sssportsmfg thinks nute burn also, Thanks

Plant on the top left got 0 ppm until the 2nd set of real leaves.
The other 3 I gave 400 ppm from the first leaves.
Burned then and slowed them way down.
The 2 to the right are clones. 100 ppm

I have to agree with @sssportsmfg that your ppm is way too high. Most important and 1st place we need to start is what type of h20 are you using @hntrml? I always suggest RO my friend. Or distilled. Then bring your ppm up to 200 with your Cal-mag. Then a seedling dose of your micro GHE nutes. Or half of the suggested measurements.
Next let’s talk about your environmental conditions. I’d keep your Rh up around 55-60%, and temps in the mid 70s during daytime and high 60s at night.

Last suggestion is to let your plant grow bigger before you put it in your bucket next time. This plant is still 2 weeks away from going into buckets. It’ll have a pretty extensive root system in the rockwool before I drop it in my lids.

This is a Fem Durban Poison plant I’m getting ready to grow, and a couple Magic Melon seedlings from Humboldt Seed Company that just popped this morning.

Link me in your posts and I’ll help you as much as I can my friend.

That’s how they usually start out in hydro… Until they get use to the medium. Give it some time!

Im using tap water ours is pretty good small town and it comes out of a spring. Minimal chemicals and a ppm of 45. The rh im working on, humidifier is coming. It runs naturally low in basement (wood furnace).
I think I went over board from what Im reading from everyone lol. I have a couple grows, one outside and a couple in soil but this is new! Why i only decided to pop and kill one plant!
Thanks.
Oh i dont know how to link you.

This will be very helpful, I am researching hydro for future projects.

Thank you.

I forgot to throw in what ultrapuff said, that your plant looks ok. Just pull your nutes back a tad and let your plant ride it out. It should be fine. Try and get your environmental conditions in the zone and your plant will do even better. But it’s not critical. To link someone just throw a @ in front of their name, like @hntrml.

Thanks again @Tygrow78
Think thats right. Ill post some pictures in about a week. Ive pulled back the nutes and as said working on the other stuff. Ill give it a week or so then see whts shaking and update.

Ok I am back @Tygrow78. I think the nute burn is under control, the girl is looking better. Still not right though. I think now I may have a deficiency lol. Hey this is new. So I cut nutes back for a few days and am now up to 450ppm with a ph running right about 5.9 almost all the time. Temps 71 up to 73 during the day and 69 at night. Humidifier just in today and rh is going up now and is almost at 50 percent. It was really dry at 39 to 40 before.
Anyways as can be seen the first leaves are pretty much burned off. The newest ones are looking better but now some yellow but at least the clawing is stopped.
Oh and can anyone tell me why i only have one root that has dropped into the bucket lol.
This is way different than soil but it is fun for sure.
Thanks

Your new growth is looking good and your leaves look like they’ve been getting wet. I’m thinking the white just looks like it’s salt buildup. You can see it on your water ring, compared to your last photo. You’ll probably notice it on your Hydroton pebbles next.
They grow pretty slow at this point. I’m right there with you waiting for my seedlings to develop also.
That is just your 1st root to sneak out on ya, many many more to come my friend. Try and get you Rh up otherwise your on point with this hydro thing.
First run is a big learning experience and you figure how to make it work better for you @hntrml.

Hiya @hntrml
I am new to hydro and growing in general and @Tygrow78 is one helpful dude. I don’t think I will use the top feed for my next grow. It just caused me problems and seemed like an unnecessary step. I unhooked them and just watched the water level closely with bubbles popping at the right level and I made sure the rockwool up top never got dry. First plant almost ready to harvest and I am happy! As far as your PPMs and nutes I just don’t have any experience to offer advice but you are not alone. Hang in there and prepare to be amazed!

Thanks @Tygrow78. I do get a little splash back from ring but it wasnt the white that bothered me, I can see some yellow about dead center of leaves. No biggy im probably just over nervous lol. I do have 4 more in RW now though, a couple WW, a Gelato. Trying to time them against this auto as will be my first photos lol. Thanks for the info man and ill post as it goes along.
