I’ve been researching extraction courses and I’m wondering what the community’s experience has been. Have you taken a course on extraction? What did you learn? Did you find it valuable? What was the cost (if you don’t mind providing that info)?
Do you offer extraction courses? What methods/lessons do you teach? Cost for your course?
And lastly, if you’re considering a course, what specific knowledge do you hope to gain? Let me know what you think!
How good at chemistry are you? And mathematics? Do you have the space for a lab? Can you afford to setup an extraction lab?
Most of the extraction class I have looked at are just giving cooking lessons.
I seen some good hard science books and papers on the organic chemistry of extraction. Lots of good papers with methods and materials. All of the stuff is available at a good laboratory supply house and some is on amazon.
You just have to decide on which methods you want to use.
I used butane and dry ice my first time plus pressure cookers. Lots of cold water and a bunch of very scared college students. Worried about a fire ball.
Less than 100 bucks in equipment. I would never do that method again, but ther are lots to choose from.
It seems as though you are interested in extraction courses. What kind of processes are you looking for? I specialize in teach Rosin extraction courses, which is what I think Ethan was refering about below with press. I have been studying, working and teaching Rosin classes for about 3 years.
Its really the best way to go IMO. Its solventless, more connoisseur, can charge a premium vs. other concentrate. IMO it has a better flavor and aroma, because you are pulling out the terps, and unlike BHO where you can lose terps in the process thats not the case with Rosin.
My prices vary depending on how in-depth we go i.e. are we just making Rosin from flower, or are you interested in first learning how to make full melt and then from their making a more pure rosin.
I would love to help you and go more in-depth. You are welcome to reach out to me through private or visit my web-site www.zenleafgardens.com
