Root training autos?

That is truly impressive, it amazes me what you can do with these plants. I’ve seen plenty of bonsai but nothing quite like that

First i thought it was stem splitting at a quick glance.

I think it’s usually done by filling the pot, adding the rock, then adding a bottomless container of some sort around the rock, on top of the soil in the main pot and filling it with soil. Plant your seed above the rock, then as the plant grows you gradually cut the top container down, exposing more roots as possible.

To make the buds denser and more energy making them. I dont understand it as much either. Kind of like roots in dwc stretching down for water. Bigger roots opposite effect is bigger canopy. I always told my wife see this tree here. See The top of the tree well all that vegitition is also below in roots. Think of. Mirror tree image.
