Skygod - Group grow - from preybirdfarms

@Maz what are you using for your sprouts? It looks like what @PreyBird1 uses. I was hoping to get some for when I start my skygod grow next.

@PreyBird1 - my package showed up today - thanks again for the extras.

most don’t know this but a 3rd party accidently sent my pack of commercial seeds to Preybird
of course, he was honest about this issue and offered to send them.

that caused an extra trip to the Post Office and for that I can’t say enough about what a great guy he is.

@Ladithief I’ve tried and tried to return all his favors he has done but he won’t let me and has every strain and nutrients and equipment he needs so I just randomly send him money I’ve sent him a bubbler once since he didn’t have one… … he hates it always tells me to stop doing it but I won’t because that’s what friends do… we never expect anything but a true friend will get you back somehow

So question… and I bet others will be interested as well. Who’s got experience growing in rock wool? I’m debating between dropping these into soil from here…or getting the next size up grow cube to drop it into.

I’m more familiar with soil. Rock wool requires you to provide 100% of all nutrients at all times throughout the whole grow. Soil is more forgiving as it contains some nutrients and acts as a buffer. This sound correct?

Ps I just ordered the grow cubes they’ll be here tomorrow. But still might do soil. Idk

Nope… don’t care @scotty17… you are paying everything and far more now…never worry about the moment… always play for an end game… can’t be paid today but maybe later… and you have risen beyond it all…love you brother… more than ever… you are solid in every sense of the word with me…and those words only belong to a few and barely more than a handful…but a plus one now…

Give Coco-Peat a shot…,

it falls somewhere between Rockwool and soil. I’ve grown hydro Before, but my last runs were super-soils with organic feeds…which I still have plenty to learn and I haven’t dialed it in yet. But with this current run, Im running coco-peat for the first time … and dude, I’m digging it!!

Definitely giving it another go next run.

Fun fact coco coir can be completly saturated with water and still contain 20% air.

Preybird told me that :eagle:

I will def consider the coco option. :+1:t4:

I shy away from rock wool for reasons listed in this article. I agree with algri, try the peat-coco a shot

How are you guys germinating the seeds? Last time I germinated seeds I kinda just put them in some paper towels and kept them dark and wet. Both grew tails but only one sprouted. I’m wondering if there is a more successful way to germinate the seeds and grow the seedlings. I Think I have heard of seedling nutrients being a thing? Or am I wrong about that?

I’ve always used paper towel method with just tap water and had great success … 100% always with preybird farms genetics… @PreyBird1 uses the same method… with older seeds a 16 hour soak in a shot glass is sometimes done but with the skygod straight paper towel in warm dark spot should work perfectly
