Soils for the baby's mamma plants

What brands of soils are yall using for your mamma’s and why? Looking for something other than Ocean Forest even though I believe it works just fine. Second opinions are always nice.

If I don’t need much soilless media, like for moms, I just buy it bagged. I plan to buy from Lane Forest Products for starts this year. Oregon company in Eugene, I believe I read that your are in Oregon, but not sure where. I need around 15 yards for my acre of rec and 3 acres of hemp starts (roughly 12,000 plants). Lane’s basic potting mix, 1/3 each of aged bark, peat, and pumice (w/o fertiler) is roughly $1.31/cuft + delivery, which isn’t much since they are just 20 miles away from me. They also do custom blends with a long list of ingredients in their Cambian Harvest line. If you want a bunch of bells and whistles (super soil type mixes) it tops out around $3.85/cufu (bulk as low as $3.66/cuft), it might go higher with custom blends, but I am not sure. Those prices are their high end indoor formula, many ingredients.

Try MillerSoils.com or Buildasoil.com…both are great companies if your organic. For bottle nutes I’d use a Coco/perilite mix for moms.

Dakine 420’s Organic blend is full of great organics for mothers, starts, seeds or really anything. Enough food to feed for weeks with no burn or weird growth. Up against Ocean Forest it would compare quite nicely with a little faster growth and healthier root zone. I could send you some samples if you like?

Rock wool… Great control of nutrient levels, inexpensive, lite, and best of all no dirt so
it is a very clean room. Downside… there is a learning curve regarding how the block dries and some investment. I highly recommend a root zone sensor to learn watering times and duration.
Cheers

Royal Gold’s Mendo mix looks pretty promising and is readily available here in Oklahoma.
