Starting seeds

How long does it take seeds pop and sprout above the medium?

If you germ them before you bury them, usually a few days

Papertowel method never fails… Get about a 1/2 in tail then plant :call_me_hand:

I plan on germinating them first, but about a few days to break the surface?

Don’t over water I made that mistake… They love moist and soft… And plant deep enough where friction causes shell and membrane to part from cotyladons

Are these good or too small. I also have solo cups.

I usually do clones so I have both. I want to see the difference between the 2.

Clones or seeds (the 2)

I use solo’s only for the simple fact that I double cup them for ease of watering

Those will work just fine tho, I’d go a bit bigger tho…saves you from a couple transplants and stress

Thanks. Wasn’t sure but ya solo would save some time. Not totally sure about seeds. Appreciate it.

I got em to sprout. It should be fun to see the difference in growth. The clones i had the last 2 times didn’t seem to be that good of quality.

I just wrote this article about popping seeds yesterday. Cotton wool is the best, although paper towels work just as well. People that drop seeds into soil and wonder why they dont germinate should read and try this method.

I did them in a cup, napkin, and then buried them after the tap root was growing. I’ve got all 4 doung well. I’m just used to clones. But, this should be fun.
