So after reading some good reports from other users I decided to give it a try. WOW I’m impressed. Here is some SFV OG with a test label at 32% my test returned 31.8%. I spend $400 on this tester and I think it was worth every penny. No more guessing on my edibles.
Wowzers. 31.8…wow least ya know. How much are these THC teating kits?
How do they work? Is it due to light fractions and how the light bounces of the trichcomes. Hairs of spain.
@TechDCo
I believe it is a spectrometer that identifies different molecules by light? Not a scientist but that is how I understand it. I spent $300 on the tester and another $100 for all the accessories. I think I can source the consumables ($100) elsewhere but for the first time I like to use their stuff. It comes with enough Regent to perform approx. 18 tests and a ton of small syringes and syringe filters. I don’t give good reviews easily these days and this one is good. Longevity review still out but impressed so far. Not getting paid from this either.
Thats what i was thinking. Me too, am no specialist. I bet its good to know the THC strength of your own smoke the best!
Yes, it’s a portable UV spectrometer…the cannabinoids refract (scatter) UV wavelengths in unique defined patterns. A lot of work references “Chromatographic and Spectroscopic Data of Cannabinoids from Cannabis sativa L.” by A. Hazekamp and team.
Really cool tool, thanks for sharing! And $400 isn’t bad when they state their testers have been using for over 1,000 tests per device
kinda like Brix meter
believe there are home tests that cost under $50.00
@HawkMan
Have you tested its accuracy? At $50 I’d be surprised / pissed if it was as accurate. haha
NO - just of FYI
