Test grow for beginners

Does it look like a nutrients problem or maybe the soil ? First time growing this is my test plant was really just going to play around with them ended up just wanting to get into it bought some seeds an a tent all the nutrients an correct soil etc I am currently germinating the seeds right now but I want to see where I went wring with this before going to the next . The soil is miracle grow which I didn’t know before hand that that was a horrible brand to use . Could I save this ? How ?

Houdy, and welcome.

Looks too wet to me. Back off on the water can lol. You are still fine just let them dry out a bit.

Foxfarm has some good medium choices depending on which way you want to go… delayed nutrients in medium or feeding on a regular schedule… I’m a new grower, i like using coco perlite mix its forgiving with over watering just make sure it’s prebuffered. I’m using an ac infinity coco mix right now just stay away from miracle grow as im sure you learned. It has delayed nutrients in it but usually not alot.

@molliepop welcome to the forum. Were going to help you as best we can! Sorry im late to the thread!

Pre-buffered is fine but coco coir leeches cal mag out. So your going to want to add cal mag also when watering.

Coco coir can be totally saturated with water and still contain 20% air. Over watering causes the root to have less air and actually drown the plant in water. I do not like soil for that reason. Heres what i have tried growing in.

  1. Foxfarm - not a fan of time release nutrients.
  2. Coco coir - dries to easily for my taste. Has lots of porosity.
  3. Tupur gold - expensive and i saw no visible diffence between that or soil.
  4. Promix-hp - love this stuff organic sphagnum base with lots of natural trace elements.

I buy 4-8 bailes of this and put it in the garage on a cart. I love to have inventory so i keep it in stock!

This started as just for fun to see what happens a then I kinda got hooked lol my tent comes tomorrow an my other stuff I did order cal mag ! So I will add it tomorrow or should I wait since it’s already overwatered? I’m going to show you guys the stuff I ordered to let me know if it’s right or if I am missing anything ?

When doing research I seen these a lot an to use both one for bottom a one for the top or should I just buy the coco coil ? I seen a lot about that as well
