I have a few pounds of trim in garbage bags inside a plastic tote outside. Its been there for the past few months and it gets past 100F out here.
My question is if it is even worth turning the trim into oil and making capsules or if anybody has any reason this would be dangerous…I dont think trash bags are bpa free…I dont know, I’ll probably try it but want to make sure I am not missing something obvious
Its worth opening the bag up and checking the quality of the the bud on the inside and turn it around to see for any mold or other problems. What color is the weed, if its dry, light brown its probably worth using as a mulch in the garden. Post a picture of the buds if you like. I have used very old trim to make weed, and it was also left for about a year, luckily not in direct sunlight but an airtight container. It came out fine.
Thanks for the reply. I figured I was other thinking it. I looked before and didn’t see any mold. The smell isn’t great but I’m just gonna make it into oil, no reason to waste it. The first two pics are from one bag and the second pics are from a different bag.
Looks like decent trim with a fair amount of colorful bud. It looks nice and dried. I am sure it will make decent oil, what process are you using for extraction?
Yep, by the looks of those pictures I would definitely give it a shot, turning it into oil / whatever.
I’m guessing you won’t be disappointed. It’s normal that the smell isn’t like much anymore, but there should still be enough cannabinoids in the trim that haven’t been broken down yet.
Appreciate that and the graph you posted, very interesting. I have a levo II which I used to use all the time to make oil but its been in storage for a few months too. Not the most time efficient way to make larger batches of oil but its a nice little machine
