I tried an experiment and it worked my cloning woes are forever over. I just do it on the plant with the little grafting balls, no stress, zero. Just cut off the limb, take off the plastic ball and plant, less stress than even transplanting from one pot to a bigger pot.

A lot of people also swear by using a light dusting of clonex gel + a light mist of water + a tiny fan on low once they start to root.
On the strain hunt side, what kind of strains are you looking for? I’ve been running some stuff from TSP lately and their autos have been pretty consistent
