Let’s talk companions. I own many books. This one Carrots Love Tomatoes describes how stinging nettle and yarrow grown in close proximity to any oil producing plants will increase their ability to produce more oil. Especially Terpenes! Make your garden Danker by growing them
I definitely talk to mine everytime I open it.
I do have a question though. Pot size, I started my 1st plant in a 5 gal. I have bought 7 gal. I think the 5 might be plenty. What size do most of you use.
Soooo… A little public service announcement (not too sure where to post this but this threads really active).
We grow in RDWC and woke up this morning to drooping leaves. They are at day 12 from seed (strain is Lambs Bread).
Ok… So they are in hydro, in plugs, and the bottom of the plugs are getting spritzed. Plugs were set super deep after initial stretch when still in plug tray.
Overwatering?!?! Maybe?
We peel back the jacks to look at the plugs and the tops are dry… Huh ok!
Underwatering in hydro? What? No fucking way?
*Adds 6ml of water to tops of plugs and comes back in 30mins and we see…
So that settles it… It is definitely possible to underwater seedlings in RDWC. In veg and established. Probably not/can’t see it happening.
If you have seedling plugs in DWC or RDWC and they are drooping it maybe underwatering! So don’t automatically go to worst case or damping off.
I have battled with pot size my whole growing life. My thoughts go like this. Regular photo’s when plants get slightly root bound they tend to grow rapidly above soil. So I like to transplant into smaller amounts of medium/soil as to maximize growth above ground. By transplanting multiple times before transferring to flower in a larger forever pot. Give it a try. See what you think. I find being we are growing fruit bearing plants they need to fill their base with roots before ultimately growing above ground. Hence why it appears that our plants are stunted after transplanting into larger pots.
