Trying to get my lights right

This is the light that I’m using right now (I also have a Mars Hydro ts1000 in the other room, and I 4 ft blurple lol) the distance from the plants that they recommend, is that accurate? My biggest issue, at least in the beginning is stretching, which is why I spent ridiculous amounts of money on lights! lol
I’d really like to have a better understanding before I drop my next seeds, which will hopefully be by the end of the week:blush::blush::blush:. Thanks y’all!

2 by 4 ft tent
And my last one basically got stunted. It stretched like crazy! And I had some overwatering issues as well as nute burn. I’m doing anything necessary to avoid that this time around lol

I definitely use them full term, and I really don’t play around too much with the dimmers. And honestly I’ve been using the veg and bloom cycles together throughout her life span. So see? I definitely need a wee bit of guidance lol:four_leaf_clover::four_leaf_clover::four_leaf_clover:

My best advice is to get a better light even a 400 w mh will grow much tighter buds .super cheap too!!

I’d get a 1000 watter price difference isn’t that much greater, hoods are the same size and dial ballast down then I’f he ever goes bigger he has more light…Although they put out more heat then leds…Air hood and vent it out all good :v:t2:

Lol man… Sorry on the 1/2 oz… we’ll cheer up life’s good your vertical…I was kinda curious on what soil you are using? Soil, nutes, environmental,Ph, are huge in growing. I never have done ppm run crap but everyone else seems to. Been growing for a long time… Shits right I feel I have no need for ppm run off, guess I’m a loner in that aspect… Don’t give up and soon you’ll be many ounces man and not 1/2 oz man trust me :joy:

I agree :100: a 1000w switch ballast is only 150 cdn ,great starter light.i have never pulled less than 500g off a 1000w hps. Up to 2250 off a single one now a days!!

Everyone’s going to those hlg lights and they seem nice but what it takes to equal a 1000 watt halide or sodium ( info from there web site) those lights are like $700-$800 a pc. Might be ok in a tent wouldn’t need many but for like my rooms would cost a mint…

2250? You using 100 gallon smart pots? Lol

Sweet… Love the color…I use in general 10-15gal smart pots I have a few 7gal left not many I had to many plants get root bound in 7gal is why I’m phasing them out…I have some 20-25 gal smart pots I have mother plants in…Lots of soil in those no doubt…We use ffof mixed with strawberry fields and a few added adjustments and also testing at the moment Ed Rothenthol soil mixture which so far is doing wonderful. Never was much into blogs or forums so never took to many pictures guess imma have to start :joy:… Any way your plants looks awesome my friend.

Thanks man  much appreciated! I’d love to follow along and see how the new mix is treating you, always nice to see bigger setups and how things run. How deep do you run your canopy? I’m stuck with mostly using hids like cmh and hps the LEDs just don’t have the penetration for a humboldt style grow, it’s all about the that perfect stress created from massive plants fighting to hold themselves up, big pots and the best genetics money can buy!! And unfortunately leds will only work for spot lighting and side/under lighting on a 3-4 ft deep canopy :frowning: hopefully soon enough they will get there tho. Efficiency is everything to me now but it don’t take much bud to pay for the extra power to use cmh lights.they sure fire out some pile of effective light and much less heat than a hps/mh. I use the waste heat to heat my house lol.

My flower room is 20’x20’8’ at the moment 4 1000w sodium’s 2 blowers run trough 4 lights so 1 blower per 2 lights and those are vented at the moment into the outside room of these two rooms to heat it since I have water spigot in that space and don’t want lines to freeze.Snowed here last night :man_facepalming::man_facepalming: That time of the year.Anyway the other four lights are vented out attic wall into two 10” wall louvered vents. So 6” just above ceiling into 8” then out 10”… Intakes are 8” 720-740cfm, can’t recall the specs now…I only run intakes in the winter to cool down the room to where I want it and temp controllers… Can’t run mini splits for air in winter lol sux… Under 68 degrees F. Out side air temps, they will freeze up therefore intakes… No Co2 yet I do have controllers for that but when I first started out I bought a 20 tank which maybe good for a tent is all I need 100 lol Co2 levels are good actually in my flower so I might not do that after all. Regarding canopy most my plants don’t get over 4-5’ tall I do have some GG4 at 6’ but…
