Update ! - Acinfinity 4X4 - Critical / Do-si-Dos

Stick buds in a jar with a rh meter see what rh is after 4 to 6 hrs. I’d jar it all with a lid to stop dry from getting any drier. If there is moisture in middle still it will come out in jars so will smells usually unless too dry. Jar it with a meterto see the rh after 4 to 6 hrs and we go from there

Put most of it in a few mason jars with a small RH meter, rest of the stuff I cut is in grove bags already.

Will let you know how it goes and what the RH says.

If it’s below 58 in the am if u have a plant growing or vegging throw like 4 or 5 fresh leaves in the jar the buds will wick up moisture from the buds and not leaves any nasty from wetness being in the buds.

Well after my disappointment yesterday I called it quits as I was ready to throw it all away … But tonight I tried trimming some more as I had 2 plants left basically.

I discovered that some parts were really dry with snappy stems, and some parts were still mostly wet. I guess that’s probably because I hung the entire plant to dry. What do you guys prefer ? Hanging in total or in branches ?

I trimmed most of it but some pieces if left some leaves on as I left it drying a bit more… So don’t judge me to hard on how some of it looks, its not all done.

I did find some bud rot in one of the tops…

And with the top below that I pulled apart looked like there were male flowers ? But not sure, again this had absolutely no smell…

Some pieces look like it should be really good, the last plant I harvested did have some smell. But just to know is that I cut the entire 1,5 plant and did not have to clean my scissors once…

Any tips, hints, comments good or bad, please let me know. I will be going on a marathon of youtube’s movies drying weed. I watched some of Mr. Canuck and he makes it seem so simple… I know this is the hardest part of growing weed, hopefully will get it down one day

Oh and the two jars that I have were showing 63% and 66%, so definitely not completely dried out…
Is there something else that can make the smell disappear ? Because when I cut them down they were sticky and stinky, like bad.

I hang whole plant for a week don’t go by snapping stems usually too dry, check with moisture meter 11-13% soft wood room 60% humidity & 68-72 temp trim put in large sealed bowls with hygrometer looking for constant 58-62% then into grove bags good luck @franklinfarmer

The only thing that I would add to that is have a fan indirectly blowing in the room for air movement. Even people that dry in cardboard boxes put a hole at the bottom and a hole at the top at the other end to create airflow. Without any airflow You can get inconsistent drying and it also opens things up for mold. :+1:t3:

I usually have a cold dry basement sitting at 55-60 f and 40-45 rh with fan moving top air. So far in a basket i get 7-9 days before stems snap or are just there. Then i trim remainder and throw in grove bags and have always gotten great results. Sometimes dry but freshens up nicely in there bags and with a burp a day for another week there good. I dont have a dry tent and usually have veggies going so cant steal the tent. Yoou do what you can and learn as you go. Loved the grow and you took uhaul to a whole new level @franklinfarmer

Thanks for the details, and do you keep the plant whole or do you cut it into branches before placing in the basket @csrtslammer

I cut each branch off and put in basket only trim non sugared leaves so i dont get mold on buds. Also i rotate them daily like a bbq spit so they dont get flat on one side.

I just read (or am still reading) a very long thread about moisture meters on a different forum. So far the unanimous opinion seems to be it takes the guessing out the equation. Concensus is 11% moisture is the sweet spot, is that what you are targeting as well ?

Needless to say I just ordered one on Amazon, will be here tomorrow.

Yep I use the meter as well I usually hang it in branches then in buckets to equalize Rh when it’s where I like 62-65 I run it in trim bowl then back to buckets to check rh once more then into grove bags to cure

Thats what the labs say to get proper lab results. Anywhere from 15 to 10.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but will be posting final weights and results tomorrow. Just need to finalize a small bit of trimming and should be done… ! I have been working on my move and setting up the tents in my new place. Just got back from a business trip and will be starting a new journal soon ! Plants just germinated and should be breaking ground tomorrow. More to come
