Using Rabies to Fight Brain Cancer

Scientists have been experimenting with the Rabies virus and its unique ability to infect neuronal tissue. Unlike many other viruses, rabies targets the central nervous system. Scientists are exploiting this ability by inserting reflective nanoparticles into the virus, which would clump near tumor tissue (there’s a long-winded reason for this). The nanoparticles were then targeted with an IR laser and heated up, cooking the tumor without damaging any other tissue.

How does this relate to cannabis you might ask? Great question, hypothetical person!

Cannabinoids, particularly CBD, have shown efficacy against cancer. We may see a day where the rabies virus is used to deliver CBD directly to portions of the brain that have cancer.

What a world we live in!
