Hi all, been here for a few months but first post. Still on the learning curve here but each grow is getting better as I identify any issues earlier.
I’ve got a Gorilla Glue clone that is now about halfway through week 3 of flower that has developed about 6-8 of these quite large light brown dots on on a small section of leaves in one area.
I did have a bit of nutrient burn on this one in veg as you can see but managed to get this back under control, but these dots have appeared since being in the flower tent.
I’m at a loss from a nutrient perspective, thought it might be bugs but not too convinced on that.
Actually looks like I’ve dropped some liquid on the leaves it didn’t like, but can’t see when or what.
Growing down under in Australia if that helps particularly on the bug side.
Should I worry - doesn’t appear to be spreading, but as we all know, better to be in front of an issue than behind.
Thoughts?
Looks to me like cal mag deficiency caused by phosphorous excess I’d ride it out reducing flower nutes by 1/4
Looks like spider mite webbing on the fringes of your leaves.
Plus you’ve got the tell tale white spots peppering your leaves as well.
Capt jacks dead bug or another spinosad product will kill them.
I’d suggest to act quickly on this as they spread very fast.
And the entire area will have to be treated as well. They get everywhere.
Good luck.
Thanks for that. Had another plant that showed a bit of early phosphorous deficiency which I fixed with a little boost quiet easily. Funny how the Banana Kush doesn’t get enough and this reverse.
Thanks for the advice, I’ll back them off a fraction and monitor.
Wow, thanks for spotting that @oldguy - greatly appreciated.
Seems like I can only get Captain Jack’s online down here and want to act a bit faster than that, so will visit the shops in the morning and get onto it.
Have you had any experience with a neem oil spray on these little buggers?
Got some of that already and was thinking about a spray now and a second hit in say 10 days. I’ve seen it mentioned a few times on here but not sure if it’ll have the same success as a spinosad spray (which may hit it and smack them down first spray).
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Again thank for the great spotting.
@DownUnderGrower
Don’t use neem in flower. It’ll make your buds taste like a$$.
A 50/50 peroxide and water mix will knock them down but not eradicate them. It’s a Temporary measure till you can get something better.
Spray at lights out. Tops and bottoms of leaves to the point of dripping.
You’ll probably see some browning of pistils afterwards but they’ll recover from that fairly quickly.
Good eye brother
Excellent - thanks for the advice.
The knowledge on here is invaluable.
Will hit them tomorrow evening (and hour into dark cycle here) with the peroxide suggestion and order some of Capt Jacks online - rather buy a brand that others have used as you never know what other crap some of these commercial places put in.
Hopefully get rid of these things for now - I’ll keep a closer eye on it moving forward. Might try some ladybugs or something like that next grow as a preventative - luckily a few in the garden most of the time eating all the other bugs trying to eat everything I have.
Your advice has probably saved this grow.
