How about protection of IP for Genetics?
As our industry becomes mainstream this issue is going to surface more as the big boys come into the game.
As for myself I consider crossing the genetics of someone’s crop improvement (CI) work without some sort of license, agreement or contract is pretty much theft. It happens every day as many who think they are creating their own little “craft strain” as diluting the work of the original genetics…but I get it, where does anything start…almost like what came first, the chicken or the egg.
Anyway enough rambling and I am certain a lot of GN members are going to disagree with my position and that is alright but those are likely the ones that don’t know the true work of breeding. I will end in saying I don’t have a crystal ball but I’ll guarantee you this will be a very significant issue when Monsanto, Bayer and the likes are playing in the industry as they have teams of attorneys whose job solely to protect intellectual property of the companies they work for.

I’d like to see a discussion about Brix testing. Yes, it’s self serving as my company makes digital refract’s however, I have spoken with growers who swear by it. Brix is used is the Ag industry in many ways so I think it has a place in cannabis. Both to educate the community and to get real feedback on the benefits from master growers, I think it’s worthy of a discussion thread.

Why do you think Brix testing is so important, @dan2? I use Brix in my cultivation practices but I would love to hear some of your input on the subject!

You guys do a good job of articles and topics for the forum.
I’m learning more about PGR’s and like to here more about that topic or from people that like PGR or don’t like PGR. The amount of money that growers are spending on PGR programs is expensive. I’m leanring about my competion and how to ansewer back to PGR programs.
Dan2 yes brix is interesting for discussion or how to raise brix levels so that the plant is fully loaded with max brix levels before going flower.
