I use the term scotoperiod (scotophase). I notice a lot of people don’t understand the difference between what I would call the total photoperiod and the photosynthetic period and have to pull up graphics. I often have to explain the difference when trying to talk about photoinhibition mechanisms (photoprotection) in plants. Anyone want to comment on these basic terms in relation to what we are discussing?
Yeah no-one cares about that. Its not realavent to me. I run my equipment to simulate nature. And my Foshe aeries has its own customizable sunrise and sunset modes. Ive been playing with mine for years and i have narrowed down the lighting timing to what the plants like. Im more interested in what the the parents of the “chemovars” Tropical Zone or Torrid Zone. Is in relation to that strain/cultivar parents. Because its a lot easier to grow it if you understand those zones enviroments and how that plants parents were also grown and bred in there environment. This can affect the grows outcome substantially. Typically it will take me 2-3 grows or cycles of a particularl cultivar for me to understand what it specifically likes so it will show me its full genetic potential. Sometimes i have to separate the cultivars into smaller tents and run them in a more controlled environment to see or understand more of what that plant is liking in that environment. Typically i like to flower multipe cultivars together in the same environment. Also ive been doing some testing to see if cloning multiple generations of the same plant affects this growth potential also or not. Because im noticing some interesting things from plants ive cloned more than 5 generations. Achieving full genetic potential with very little environmental factors being modified. Im still permacloning plants and regrowing the same 26 cultivars over and over and over. I like to have the very best strains that i love and my medical clients love on a rotating alternating strain menu. And actually i just added 2 more culivars 3 days ago so i have….. wait also pink Runtz from @wow_arizona so thats 29 living strains im running now. My maximum capcity is 1600sqft and 106 plants. I can flower 30 plants at once when im at full capacity. I scaled back in 2024 to 1000sqft and the 29 cultivars currently in the library.
And there is talk of a fourth type of cannabis lol.
While the traditional classification of cannabis includes Sativa, Indica, and Ruderalis, some researchers and discussions identify a potential 4th type, such as Cannabis afghanica or a cold-resistant, distinct strain discovered in Australia. Others focus on chemotypes (chemical composition) or new, highly potent synthetic alternatives like THC-
-
Botanical 4th Type: Some experts argue for Cannabis afghanica as a distinct species due to its unique characteristics.
-
The “Australian” Type: Reports from 2015 mentioned a potentially new, cold-resistant cannabis shrub found in Australia.
-
Alternative Classifications: Some modern approaches classify by chemotype, identifying a 4th type as high-CBG (cannabigerol) or, in some frameworks, an almost entirely cannabinoid-free plant.
Goodbye everyone. I asked the moderators to delete my account after being accused of attempting to post a link. Im not interested in participating in a business that silences voices of regular people sharing information and helping each other.
Looks like you got your wish wanderer! See ya later and happy travels! Have a nice trip and see you next Fall!
A lot of talking.
