What is your opinion on grow tent kits?

Hey guys,

Was thinking of a small grow. Does a tent keep the smell to a minimum? Are these practical?

Yes tents help control the smell. And using carbon filters and ozone generators you can scrub the air pretty well. I also run an enclosed filter system where i filter it the 1st time then run it through 2 more filters and then passing that through a 5x bulb 12" industrial ozone generator. Tents also make it easy to dial in the environment! My grows external RH is 29% so i need a tent to keep my RH up higher.

Hey @doobeyone

They do help contain the area and a little smell, but like @PreyBird1 suggested you will need a carbon scrubber to clean the air of the smell.

I was thinking something like this. Does anyone have any experience growing with these tent kits?

I have an 8" ozone generator for the discharge…haven’t used it in years, but I was assured that I will need it on this next grow. It worked well except for that funky smell from the ozone generator, but it does work well when I used it.
Some stuff you just cannot contain. It permeates everywhere no matter what…←my current situation…if it weren’t 70 days I’d dig that thing out and hook it up…but I will for the next one…it’s just an 8" tube about 18" long and it passes through the ozone generator to kill the odor.

Grow tents are a smart choice for small grows. They are easy to set up, manage light well, and work great with LED grow lights. With the right fan and carbon filter, they do help control smell. They also make it easier to keep the temperature and humidity steady. Just make sure your tent is the right size for your lights and plants. Overall, very practical if you want a clean, controlled space to grow in.
