Let’s try these pics again.
As you can see, these rusty spots are not on all leaves. And they’re only showing up on this, the largest of my plants. They seem to be appearing in a pattern, sort of the same distance from the lead edge all the way around the leaf. What do you all think of these spots?

Just bought some from another brand for starting up my indoor grow, but I will dissolve and add some to feed. Just out of curiosity, how often do you feed great white?

You know, my bug management is going ok for now. I’ve applied BT a couple times and some neem oil once a week or so. I have purchased some D. Earth, but I’ve been scared to apply. Do you apply it to the foliage directly or in a ring around the plant?
As I move to flower (maybe? Eventually??), I know I need to watch out for different bugs and treat with different products so as to avoid affecting the buds’ flavor/safety. Can you provide any tips?
Thanks so much for any thoughts!

Here are my three photoperiod plants. I haven’t done any training, but I did top one of them, as you can see. Just wanted to learn. Am really amazed how quickly it recovered from topping and how many new nodes it’s put on since then.
I’m in Virginia and am really wondering when I’ll see buds begin to develop. Am super-excited to continue working with these plants this autumn.

Nice I figured great white would have been discussed. I try and feed it every time I transplant and then going from flower to veg and maybe once more in heavy bloom. You shouldn’t have to feed it very often if the microbes have enough nutrients to survive.
The rust color leaves I would just defoliate and let the rest of the plant focus on the new foliage.

So for applying diatomaceous earth. You are mainly supposed to just make rings and boundaries around the base of your plants and maybe sprinkle some up the stem up the plant. A flower sifter works really great for spreading it and keeping it from clumping up. But I personally just cover the whole plants and all as long as they are in veg. No preflower nothing. But it’s meant to just be spread more around the base of the plants. Also it will kill practically any insect so if you do have beneficials you are wanting to keep around don’t spread it onto the plants just focus more on the ground around them. I always trey and do a perimeter around the whole garden or yard area while you are at it.
My thoughts on going into budding is try and knock the bugs back as hard as you can as early as you can going into preflower. Once you get into budding you want to try and stay away from spraying most anything on the plants. If you can get ahead and knock them back enough before budding that’s the best bet but easier said than done. If you do have problems going up into flower. Most of the products you are using can be used up until the day of harvest. What I do to plan before harvest is about one to two weeks before chopping I spray hard one last time and a couple days after spraying I will just wash the whole plant off with water. You can also have a 5 gallon bucket full of water when you are chopping of to the side to dunk all of your branches and wash them off as you chop.
Happy growing!

Cannetics said it all… just a ring a round the rosey with DE. Some ppl even mix it with water and spray the plants which I do NOT do. It has to clog stomata doing that and I’m sure I’ve read it, doubt I came up with that on my own. I’m sure they can unclog themselves usually but it’s that 1% of the time they can’t ya know. If your using Neem oil and BT that’s covers it. I’m on the Azamax train instead of BT but that’s just what I bought 2 years ago…lol the rust spots look like (look) healed mite damage. Its prolly coincidence and I know a couple deficiencies have that trait. But you can’t NOT know you have mites if you smudge the back of a leaf with mites you’ll see yellow guts everywhere. Your doing it all right man it’s just these few battles your winning it seems. It comes with the hobby but you’ll rebound with added knowledge.

Yeah I bought in the Azamax thing too. Spent 50 bucks on a tiny bottle. I used it in the spring, I did my garden and I had a bunch left over and there was aphids all over and I do mean seriously covering my two crêpe myrtle trees that were in full bloom. So I figured what the hell i’ll fogged those two while I’m at it I have left over. It completely destroyed all the blooms. Kill the aphids, The plant itself looked Great, the leaves are green and healthy but every bloom fell off. So from that little experience I highly recommend that nobody uses Azamax once pre-flower starts.
Azamax has oil in it, no Bueno for flowers.

This is very interesting you both use and have good results with Azamax? Which only has a insect growth regulator as the active ingredient. I was going to try and use Azera which has some of the same insect growth regulator as well as pyrethrins as the active ingredient’s. I think from everything I’ve learned about aphids this year is that they grow and shed their skin daily. So unless you do use a insect growth regulator it’s almost impossible keeping up with them. The insect growth regulator I’m talking about is Azadirachtin. From what I’ve learned its the only approved and okay to use IGR on cannabis. But that is interesting you both have had good luck with Azamax. Might purchase some of that next season as well as the Azera.
And I have also heard of mixing DE with water and spraying it but I’ve always been so sceptical I just spread it. Do you know what rate you are supposed to mix for per gallon? Just wondering for future reference or for anyone else interested?

These plants have really stretched! I am excited to report that I have some baby flowers forming on Sunset Sherbet. The two Zkittlez plants are beautiful and healthy, too. So far, I am hopeful that I’ll be able to take a harvest. Regardless, I have had so much fun learning about and caring for these plants. I am very excited to begin my indoor grow when the weather cools off a bit here in Virginia and to begin some outdoor garden projects. I have just enough time to get everything ready for next Feb.
I have put out some diatomaceous earth around all the plants, but it washed away pretty quickly. Unsure whether it did any good. Am finding some caterpillars—little green ones and larger black ones—on the plants. I am removing them manually, but I sprayed some BT yesterday.
Now, it’s time for me to plant brussels sprouts, broccoli, spinach.

Just a couple shots of my Sunset Sherbet baby buds. Sure is beautiful.
Wondering if you all would seek to protect these outdoor plants from rain during the final weeks. I’ve become worried that the humidity is going to get me. What do you think?
Hope y’all are having a great day!

I personally would worry about rain all the way through the Grow once your plants start flowering. By the looks of your plants you have about six more weeks to go to finish. You should start figuring out a way to cover them up if you’re going to have a lot of rain. They will need to be covered and still have good airflow.

We just had three days of rain, some pretty hard showers. Up here in the PNW, I expect it to only get worse. We put our babies in the shed and the pantry for the worst of the weekend. Now we have several days of good weather. That being said, we’re going to put a tarp from my roof to my fence over the plants, still allowing for sun and wind, etc. My biggest fear is bud rot, so I get it. Last thing I want to do is have to bring them in and start using fans, dehumidifiers, etc. There is a reason I don’t grow indoors. LOL … good luck!!

Rain sucks - when you have too much of it. It also sucks when you don’t have any…lol go figure. It’s been pouring here coming up on almost 24 hrs. We have floods everywhere and I almost took my outdoor plant down yesterday. I’m screwed, I’m sure of it. When I get home it’s getting chopped and a H2o2 bath right away. I shall overcome… Yes I shall

Hi Everyone! Much of the crazy weather has skipped me. Outdoor plants are still going strong.
Have been feeding a couple times a week with half-strength bloom nutes. Added some michorrizal fungus to the water a couple days ago after noticing some light, splotchy patches on leaves.
Am dealing with some minor pest problems. I assume they’re aphids, because the damage looks similar. Haven’t been able to catch any in the act. Have seen some ladybugs and similar pals helping me out. Also, I’m still seeing some small caterpillars every now and then. I applied a light, light dose of BT about a week ago. Am really, really reluctant to spray anything at this stage. What do y’all do to control pests during flower?
Zkittlez plants are still growing a little taller. The younger plant that I topped seems to be finishing earlier than the older, taller plant. That doesn’t make much sense to me. Thoughts?
These two are just beginning to get frosty, and the buds are still really small. The smell is intermittent and not too strong.
The sunset sherbet plant is stacked. I think it looks beautiful, and I can’t wait to see how much bigger the buds get. I am nervous about this plant being stolen, because it smells… a lot. I am having so much fun with this project.
I hope you all have a great day!

Loco, I hope you were able to get that plant in or that you’re happily letting it ride! Can’t wait to see results!

Them plants are going to be very hungry when blooming. You might want to think about upping that nutrient a little bit. Captain Jack’s dead bug and BT will not hurt your plant all the way up to harvest. The bugs must eat it for it to do any good. So you need to give your plant a good coat of it. First thing in the morning is preferred so they dry out quickly. I do this every 7 to 10 days all the way to harvest. I don’t recall ever seeing you at my journal so I will tag you over there so you can see my results.
I can show you here too I guess. I fogged this plant Monday…

Thank you! I have plenty of Capt Jack and BT, so I’ll move forward with a little more confidence! Heading over to your journal now.

I sure will ramp up the nutrient dose. I’m using the one-bottle bloom product from Gen Hydro. In my shoes, would you add another product or just strengthen the dose?
