🍃 AMA with Jake Galanty and Korkmaz of Franklin Miller Wed April 3rd 11 AM PST

Hello, Growernick: Is this session in the form of a video conference, or just a Q&A session? Thanks.

We optimized the units to most effectively process the material - to the standards and regulations of the cannabis industry.

The AMA is a typed Q&A. Thanks for the question and look forward to hearing what you have to say!

Aside from the deep hopper, are there safety features built in to the Taskmaster?

Okay, FranklinMiller, what is your recommended model for “grinding” high-CBD/THC cannabis prior to decarboxylation?

Yes, these units have motor overload protection, an automatic reversing controller, and an optional emergency stop. This machine is also low speed and high torque. The lower speed/high torque design prevents fly back of material.

This grinding would be to a particle size suitable for direct loading into a supercritical C02 extraction system.

Great question, @npcm601! I want to tie into that question: how often does the machine need to be cleaned when processing high THC material? Do the blades get caked with material? Is there a quick way to clean the machine and keep processing?

The best machine for that process would be the The VULCANATORÂŽ KM05, a compact, high performance knife mill that quickly and efficiently reduces friable materials to desired output size. The KM05 employs high shear knives that accurately cut solids to desired output size with a shear action without overgrind or excessive fines. The KM05 can process 110 to 220 lbs. per hour or more depending on the application.

Great question. We have developed a specific cleaning procedure for this type of material, that many of our customers have found works very well. It is a cleaning procedure done at the end of each day.

Okay, following up on the specifications of that unit on your website. Thanks.

Do you have just shredding or do you also offer dewatering equipment for fresh hemp harvest?

Great! Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Unfortunately, we do not have dewatering at this time. We offer shredders and grinders for both cannabis and hemp (both wet and dry options).

Cool, I know fresh harvest is a big issue. Looks like some serious machinery! Is it just geared toward waste disposal or are there harvest applications?

Seems like it would make great compost feed.

*apologies if you have already answered. Coming in late

Can you share a little about your manufacturing process? Where are your machines made? What’s the lead time from when a client places an order to when your shredder ships and arrives at the client’s facility?

Our shredders are utilized both on the waste and harvest sides. On the harvest side, we are typically used before drying for safer drying and more efficient extraction.

Cool. Would you go into a convection dryer setup after processing?

Our machines are made here in our Livingston, New Jersey facility. Lead time on typical applications is around 4-6 weeks, though can vary by application.

It would be a dryer of the customer’s choosing. It could be a convection dryer or belt dryer, typically.
