🍃 AMA with the entire Canna Cribs creation and production crew Weds March 13th 11 AM PST

1.5 hours to and from the farm! So we spent well over 3 hours every day just driving to get to location. It definitely took a toll on our crew. To be honest filming our Honeydew episode was by far the most exhausting. If we forgot something as simple as a battery we were not sitting pretty.

What has been your biggest obstacle while producing Canna Cribs?

@Growernick

As an entrepreneur, I have always been a huge fan of the tv show Shark Tank. It doesn’t matter the type of business or amount of revenue, the questions from the investors and answers from the entrepreneurs always taught me something new, that I could bring back to my business.

With that in mind, I was on a search for content that provided similar value for cannabis growers. I searched far and wide, but could not find what I was looking for. That inspired me to create Canna Cribs, which both entertains growers and helps generate tangible value for their business. Whether that is learning a new way to feed your plants, affirming that you’re doing something right, or just some good ole fashion commiserating with your fellow growers.

On top of that, I am a strong proponent of legalizing cannabis around the world. I also created Canna Cribs as a platform to help promote what professional, safe, and legal cannabis looks like at scale. Every farm that we film is a market leader in their own right. Blazing the trail for others to follow. The Canna Cribs platform educates millions of people around the world; including patients, growers, politicians and the canna-curious. It is my hope that we are enlightening the opposition, shifting their support to legalization, one mind, city, state, country and continent at a time.

I would say my biggest obstacle is coordinating/advancing these episodes! Me and @nick have to spend several weeks pre-producing many of these episodes which are remote. So having to book flights/cars, rentals, hotels, and many other logistics with these large grow ops that are mostly remote can be hectic. We have a crew over over 10 people so we have to make sure they are all taken care of and we have to make sure we get to location and get through our shoot! I will tell you there is no better feeling for me than when we finally return home.

Do you have a favorite moment from filming past episodes? Any funny behind the scenes moments we should know about?

This story is funny now but at the time it was a pretty tough ordeal. One of our talking heads and two of our camera operators were up on fork lifts at the top of a green house shooting a scene. As you know green houses can get HOT. It’s even hotter at the top of the green house with all the hot air rising. We got stuck on a take and had to do several more.

Our talking head was so struck by the heat he couldn’t complete sentences and our camera ops were becoming flush. We eventually brought them down for safety concerns. One of our camera operators had to take an hour break to get himself back together. Unfortunately one of our main cameras completely broke down! We ended up using a second unit camera to complete the rest of the shoot. Lesson learned though we now make sure to be very careful shooting in greenhouses and we take sufficient breaks between scenes so we can cool down.
