Itโ€™s great to be here. I have not seen any industrial standards for wet vs dry. Good question, some people say machine trimming is hard on product but with all the trimmers we have sold I believe itโ€™s kind of a misconception for the most part. It certainly can be hard on your product if itโ€™s not being ran properly. That is why we have developed a system that will gently tumble and trim your flowers. Most barrel trimmers all have one high barrel speed but ours is variable speed, depending on flower strain and material preparation.

We have a line of trimmers for small to large scale growers. Our smallest trimmer is our Mini Zoom with more capacity than single barrel trimmers on the market. Our Zoom Pro is for the larger growers that produce large quantites. Usually the larger operations will have multiple Zoom Proโ€™s to accommodate these higher volumes in a timely matter.

What sort of capacities can these machines handle?

@Growernick
Our Zoom Mini does 20lbs wet per hour and 5-10lbs dry.
The Zoom Pro does 90-120lbs wet and 45lbs dry per hour.
These capacity numbers are all based on flower density, moisture content and proper material preparations.

How do you recommend the material be prepped for the Zoom machines?

We would love to take part in any challenge! We would prefer to have one of our reps at the location to ensure our machine is operated correctly as there are a number of customizable features and weโ€™ve had other competitors purposely misuse our trimmers in the past to try to show advantages.

It sounds like a challenge has been borne!

Dry you will want the flower around 10% and preferably more moisture inside with the stem removed. Wet trimming the material can be bucked or stripped fresh off the plant and ran directly into the hopper or conveyor.

Thanks for that! Perception and misconception can sometimes go hand in hand. How do you convince old school hand trimmers to transition over to using your machine? What are the challenges you find with educating a market on your type of equipment?

Do you have testimonials that states your trimmers donโ€™t damage the trichomes because of your gentle tumble?

This seems like an opportune time to ask this:

Why is your Zoom technology superior to other trimmers?

@Kareenabis420
The best way to convince old school hand trimmers is to see a demo. Some will never budge because their operation is still small enough to keep hand trimming. Hand trimming is great but once you grow to a large enough scale itโ€™s not economical to do with high labor cost. Especially with a race to the bottom it requires some level of automation to keep cost competitive in this tough market.

We have some testimonials on our website but we usually ask potential customers to speak with our existing Zoom customers to verify that our trimmers donโ€™t damage the trichomes. Itโ€™s more believable when coming from the end user.

Hi, can you advise what the most common cause of stoppages are with your trimmers and how you correct for them?

@Growernick

The best short answer is our proven patanted technology and our many years of experience in refining and developing the best barrel trimmer on the market. Our trimmer line is refined every year to bring the best performance to growers for the best ROI.

If you are referring to trimming interruptions then my answer would be from not paying attention to the vacuum system losing the vacuum on the trimmer. This is easy to resolve by cleaning all the trimmed material and restarting the system.
Sometimes trimming wet will require periodic cleaning of the reel cutter for the best cutting performance. This can be cleaned with a pressure washer in a number of minutes.

Your Zoom tech is not the only trimmer that incorporates double barrels into the design โ€“ you know who Iโ€™m talking about here โ€“ what sets your double barrel technology apart from the other double barrel designs available on the market today?

Thanks, great points! Word of mouth is very powerful!

Where do you foresee Zoom Technologies 5 years from now? How much will you continue to evolve?

@Growernick
Yes I know who your talking about. The other 2 barrel trimmer has attached two single barrel trimmers side by side. They use the one small motor to drive two reels and two barrels at one set speed with the machine less than 2 feet off the floor.

Our Zoom Pro is designed for easy transport, high volume output, quality-controlled trimming and proper ergonomics for running the trimmer for hours at a time while using with our Zoom conveyor system. The Pro has variable barrel speed for different strains with rugged heavy-duty built-in jacks for controlled adjustable material flow. Our patented design and barrel cutting surface is all 304 stainless steel unlike the other trimmer with coated barrels.

What issues can arise with the singular motor?

In 5 years we see ourselves as a much bigger and stronger company with a expanded product line and continued great product support. We will also have a strong presence in the European market.
