Okay, here is my serious question, how many times per week should I give the nutes? I dont want to over do it and I also dont want to under do it. I know what to add and how much etc., but cannot figure out how many times per week and the nute calculator is basically in fucking chinese as far as I’m concerned. I am watering them every other day and sometimes every 2 days when they feel moist. Do I add the nutes every time I water?

I feed every watering, and every 2 days… Basically, if they need water, I feed them… no breaks ever, but that’s me, some will try plain water every now and then…
If the tip of your leaves barely starts to turn yellow, you are pushing just enough… if it’s more than the tip that turn yellow, cut back a bit… if it’s a healthy green all the way to the tip, she can take more!

I’m also doing nutes every feed but in my 10 gals they can take up to 3 - 4 days to need it again.
But too. I water to good run off every time once they’re big enough to take a good soaking.

I was feeding 2 day on 1 day just water but last 3 weeks hitting hard everyday… This is always one of the hard parts… trying to get your feed just right with something you’ve never used before… If it were me and yes just my opinion and what I’m looking at and I do believe your in soil coco mix I’d start with smaller doses of nutrients in your water and work up slowly or if you think you can push them a bit do it and see what happens. They’re still young less than 30 days I believe

@beths I mix my nutes up weekly in 5 gal buckets (or larger) then feed them for the week

Do you have to keep it aerated, with a pump and airstone or something?
Or do you just shake well before use?

@Packee oh that will work way better. Same question as @kapouic. Aerated or just stir before use?

I am 97% sure it needs to be aerated to keep the PH stable, but I don’t use that method, so I can’t be 100% sure.
And since the Advanced Nutrients have a specific order to mix them, I’m not sure it would work for you if it’s not constantly aerated to keep things mixed up…

If you’d like to try @Packee’s method and you are not sure, just contact Advanced Nutrients.

I know @Tygrow78 has been in touch with them and find them really helpful!

Personally I like to mix fresh every time I feed.
Less chance for the ph to swing high or low.

Yes we do aerate… I have an air snake in my 5gallon right now brewing up a nice tea…also good way to off gas your chlorine…

@beths @kapouic. Aerated the whole time
I use phosphoric acid and don’t get any pH swings at all.

@kapouic when you said if the tips are not yellowing I could push a bit more nutes. By that do you mean increasing the dose of the water or pushing more water/nute feedings.

For example, my nutes say to use 2ml/l for smaller plants and 4ml/l for larger plants.

So, I have been doing 2ml and they usually get about a liter of water every other day. They are dark green with no yellowing tips whatsoever.

How would I increase the nutes? Up to 3ml or go straight to the 4ml or more feedings in general?

Sheesh I feel like a scientist.

Thanks for your help!

When ā€œpushing themā€ it means just adding bigger doses to water… Same watering schedule just added more food to it :+1:

Do you water until some of it comes out the bottom? Myself, I put 2 ml per liter but water more often… it might be very wrong to do it that way, but it works for me… I am just careful to let them get thirsty before feeding them again… The way @scotty17 described is the ā€˜ā€™normal’’ way to do it…

No water came out the bottom yesterday except for one plant. I put a liter of water/nutes each plant (except the baby NL she got way less.)

That’s how I do it… if it’s start to run off at the bottom, I stop. But usually I don’t put as much, but do it more often.

@kapouic I like that makes sense too me for sure I might try …:+1:… It’s like either eating a couple edibles at different times or eating all at once LoL… Either way you’re still getting fucked up

Don’t forget, even if they are gorgeous, they are still young. I respectfully suggest you go slowly and read your plants. Soon enough they will demand more and you’ll notice…

You were able to care for a daughter, a few plants shouldn’t intimidate you! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
