Cdoggs first grow

Not always, but only because I’m lazy, busy, and scatter brained… But it definitely can be used that way.

Awesome! From as soon as day 1? Or should I be waiting a big for this lady to get bigger?

I usually wait until they have a couple nodes. It should be okay to use it on little ones, I just don’t want to take any chances.

@mudman is right. You might want to wait a little bit longer. A plant that small you can check every day and see whether or not you have any indications of bugs. Once that seedling is transplanted you might also want to consider sprinkling some mosquito bits on the soil and water over them to prevent fungus gnats.

10-4. Yeah fungus gnats are always lurking. I saw one on my rigged cover today. They like my peppers too

At this young of the stage just put circles of diatomaceous Earth around the stem. Also the best advice you’re ever going to get is use mosquito bits for gnats. I drop some in my rain water catch can to make a tea like.

Got both on the way! Thanks brotha :raised_hands:

D.E. is good to put on top of dirt between waterings, dusting plants with cayenne pepper or cinnamon( if in veg). The insecticidal soaps work well too that was already mentioned. Minced garlic around the grow area helps too

*Cinnamon has antibacterial and antifungal properties so avoid getting soil loaded up with it as we want our microbes

If u have fungus gnats ur soil isn’t drying out enough and are attracted to bad fungus in your soil potentially causing root rot. Add an extra day between waterings and have a fan blowing across the top of your soil so they can’t land and lay more eggs

Thank you! I haven’t seen any gnats on soil or plant. Only one on the outside of my cover, not necessarily worried about them or any bugs at this point. Just looking for preventative measures when they aren’t currently present

Benefits to Foam Board Insulation Backed with Aluminum Foil

Was this supposed to be a link??

if you make sure your humidity is a bit higher to compensate for the temps you should be ok even upto 95. There are lots of guys in AZ that have greenhouses in summer that stay in the high 90s all cycle.

theres a link to a calc to find out an estimated VPD. the humidity and temp both play into how your plants transpire. I think you should be fine with those temps esp if your hot exhaust isnt going into that room. Using insulation is always a money saver though, small investment for big cumulative power savings.

With those temps I would stick with hot climate strains. You could make a big difference with some cheap insulation like @pptrsha1 mentioned.

Maybe a dumb question but I only get direct sun on my shed on one side… if I use some foam insulation on that one side, will that serve any purpose do you think?

For example, the sun only hits this side as well as the roof. The other side is shaded by trees.

not a dumb question. an efficiency of materials question!
Yes even without full coverage, if you manage to insulate the areas with the highest thermal swings (places that get the hottest and coldest) and properly adhere the insulation on, you should see some benefit. I def recommend foam board panels and NOT the pulled fiber type insulation. That stuff sucks in many many ways.
If you can duct the AC unit directly into the tent inside of the shed you could also add a proper vent to the shed to exhaust the air outside of the tent you might have even better results. smaller volume = less BTU requirement. Sure the shed will get hot but as long as the air in the tent is good then it should be fine

I’m sure it would help some.

10-4! I think I’ll start on one side and see how she does. Its coooking on the one side and the other is like a whole different world. Thanks fellas🙌

Let’s also see a pic of the outside of the shed and the roof.

no. just an idea. i dropped temps by using the cheap white foam board in my first room. i have seen a few people go all out for foil backed but i think its a toss up between the 2
