Gelato and Skittles in a 4x4 AC Infinity tent

Hello all, starting to prepare my new grow. The previous round is still drying in the 4*4 tent but should be done in the next 7-10 days.

I got the new soil, will be going for Fox Farms Ocean Forest mix with a regular potting soil from ACE. Want be a bit carefull as I keep reading the Fox Farms soil can be a bit hot, so will be mixing that 50/50 with the cheap soil to take the edge off. And will be adding a generous amount of Perlite.

Will be sprouting 2 Gelato’s and 3 Skittlez soon (both are photoperiod), could not draw a proper icon for the Skittlez so figured boobs would be equally adequate !

Have a temporary setup with a cheap Chinese grow light in the corner of the living room until the tent clears. Think they will be fine for a week or so in the Humidity dome under that light.

Can’t wait to get started on the new round ! I was contemplating to go for 6 plants but keep reading 5 or so is really the max for a 4*4 tent… Thoughts ?

If you want to run six run six. just keep an eye on your vegetative growth and flower them at the appropriate time for your space. In this case may be a little bit early because The number of plants. You can start 25 clones and as soon as they establish roots flower them and have a sea of green green in a 4 x 4 tent. If you take it too far into vegetative state and the plant start getting too big, get out the scissors and make them smaller before they get too far into flower. Go for it. :+1:t3::v:t3:

I ran auto flowers for the first time in my grow that is currently drying, and just did not like the smaller plants. So going to back to photoperiod plants, so looker for a bit bigger plants to fill out the 4*4.

The auto’s really only used half of the horizontal space and only a quarter of the vertical space.

But thanks for the feedback, makes sense !

This is maybe a stupid question, but how long can you keep motherplants around ?

And would they survive if they are not in a controlled environment like a tent ? Understand this is a super broad question, but like for instance in the corner of the living room I doubt it would get enough light to not switch to flowering ?

Here’s 2 easy solutions for this. Put a 60 W light bulb on it for a few hours in the evening, or set up a timer use the same 60 W bulb and have it come on for an hour in the middle of the night. That will keep it in veg. :+1:t3::v:t3:

1 of the Zkittelz did not germinate, planted it anyway partially hopefully it will come alive anyway. Planted a spare Gelato seed directly in soil to cover for the potential loss.

hope you guys appreciate my temporary janky setup in the living room…

Quick update now that they are fully out of the ground. The spare gelato has made its way above ground and the 3rd Zkittlez is officially dead, RIP.

Quick update, transferred them in bigger pots (not sure about exact dimensions) and gave them a very first light feeding. They seem to do well in their new pots and their growth has starting taking off !

Will keep them in these pots for a while, later transplant them to 1 gallons and eventually to 5 gallon soft pots before turning them to flowering stage.
