I just read part of the new rules that took effect on 8 December 2022 and it may have changed. I know that it still has to be blocked from public view and all weed over 3 oz. has to be locked in a state approved area. My understanding is the storage of the product should be stored in the approved grow room. The amount allowed to be purchased is now 6 oz. with only 3 oz. in 1 visit. Without a grow permit 12 oz. can be stored and 18 oz can be stored with a grow permit. They have also started a new division of cannabis regulation. I’m still trying to figure out the rule changes.
I know you have to hire a lawyer to figure their new rules out lol.

Here is what I’ve found so far.
10. Personal Use of Marijuana.
a. The plants and any marijuana produced by the plants in excess of three ounces are kept at one private residence, are in a locked space, and are not visible by normal, unaided vision from a public place; and
b. Not more than twice the number of allowable plants under paragraph (b) of this subdivision are kept in or on the grounds of a private residence at one time.
(c) Assisting another person who is at least twenty-one years of age in, or allowing property to be used for, any of the acts permitted by this section; and
(d) Purchasing, possessing, using, delivering, distributing, manufacturing, transferring, or selling to persons twenty-one years of age or older marijuana accessories.
(2) A person who, pursuant to this section, cultivates marijuana plants that are visible by normal, unaided vision from a public place is subject to a civil penalty not exceeding two hundred and fifty dollars and forfeiture of the marijuana.
(3) A person who, pursuant to this section, cultivates marijuana plants that are not kept in a locked space is subject to a civil penalty not exceeding two hundred and fifty dollars and forfeiture of the marijuana.
They also removed the residency requirement to apply for the medical marijuana card.
Hum mm…that is interesting…it now says visible from a PUBLIC place, that means you should be able to grow and even if your neighbor can see it, it no longer applies to the visibility thing. Your neighbor’s house is private property and not a “public place” Sounds like Marty is going to build an outside grow space lol. I don’t understand that “not more than twice the allowable plants’ thing”
Marty
I interpret the public place thing as being seen from a road or sidewalk. I’m thinking not more than twice the allowable plants’ thing, it’s about the 6 plant rule, you can be a caregiver up to 6 individuals but can’t grow more than 12 plants.
they like that part here in New York
we can grow six but they cannot be seen from off the property
other than from the air
but whats in a count what if hail destroyed 64 of my 70 plants
I would be at six an still have a harvest
have to plan for the worst
as daddy always said “failing to plan is planning to fail”
better safe than sorry eh?
That’s what I though too on the public place thing. 6 plants outside is PLENTY lol…
So put up a 6 ’ privacy fence and trim, bend, trim, bend trim lol. And a locked gate to get into the enclosure.
PS the link doesn’t work, it thinks your a bot.
Marty
LOL I hear that…and I have always liked OPTIMISTIC thinking…70 on account of POSSIBLE hail lol.
Marty
I think I double clicked on the link to many times! I removed the link but it can be found on their website.
A friend of mine gave up trying to grow outside here in this area. Every time his plants would start flowering after a couple of weeks they would cut through his fence and steal his plants!
Police
I stopped from 1995 until 2000 as I was having to grow three crops a season
one for me, one for The Police and one for the ripper
I was going just dynamite my grow but my dear wife being the one with
a lick of good sense
told me if I was to blow up the police they would stick a needle in my arm
so I moved inside after being back outside for the last two season I realized outside
is where the plant really likes to be the most
all the best and be safe
Dequilo
It wasn’t police hitting him, he always checked with the Sheriff’s Department and filed reports with them. The problem around here is the undesirable individuals think if your growing pot, you have a lot of cash on hand, because they are under the impression that you are selling black market weed and it could get pretty dangerous. I really try to stay under the radar because of it. I really think that the people hitting his grows were the people he used to buy his weed from because he was spending a lot of cash on black market weed until they started issuing grow permits for Medical Weed.
I do know that it was the ripper that cannot tell when a plants is done
because he is 12
if you are looking to rob dealers for cash the ready rock dealers have always been my first choice
spray paint a couple crowns here and there
it becomes a gang thing The Police look for a day or two and move on
all the best and be safe
Dequilo
Something tells me he told too many people. First rule, say nothing to anyone that knows where you live.
Marty
@dequilo this is what i do outdoors over here usually end up with 2 crops if cop and rippers dont find one
You sound just like me
Would love to sit down with you and hear your storys you sound like a very interesting character my brother
@sssportsmfg usually your own enemy in this loose lips sink ships
@nacho151 it always interesting to hear how many hoops you gotta jump through even tho its legal there
@nacho151 goes hand in hand tho someones always out for a easy earn
Yes it is interesting. The state is just making sure that they get a chunk of cash, even if your not buying from a dispensary. They did change the medical cards from 1 year to 3 years and cut the price in half, the grow permits for home grows is still 1 year, however the commercial grow permits are good for 3 years now from what I heard.
UPDATE The state did cut the price of home grow permits by 50% plus COLA based on the CPI.
